We offer horse and rider training in English, Classical and Western Dressage as well as general horsemanship training for horse and rider from basic pleasure riding to grand prix dressage. All ridden training is based on a simple classical prin

cipal which assists the horse and rider to work in harmony with an understanding of enhancing the natural biomechanics of horse and rider to produce a light relaxed harmonious partnership. Linda focuses on training a universal style of aids for the rider which compliments the discipline focus for any rider/horse combination from trail riding to grand prix dressage. Linda offers training for horses from foal to full grown as well as assistance with rehabilitating injured horses for ridden performance. Available for clinics in English, classical and western dressage and general horsemanship Australia wide. Reasonable rates offers as I believe everyone should be able to afford quality training and assistance. River Range Warmblood Stud produces a small number of quality performance horses each year which are Holstein cross and most of our current breeding mares are progeny of the original stallion Northern Classic. Currently the stud has 4 resident stallions (including one Welsh Cob of pony type) and 1 visiting stallion a Morgan. Linda accepts horses in for dressage and show training, preparation and competition at very competitive rates. Dressage 2B Shore currently have 2 school horses for riders to come for lessons who don't currently have a suitable horse to train with.

Who has seen the videos from the first Bridleless competition in the UK recently and feeling inspired to develop this level of partnership with their horse.

Reading many of the comments though out Facebook on the event and videos, so much focus was on the horses and how calm and relaxed they appeared, which is fantastic. But for us, watching it and seeing so many beautifully balanced riders, in perfect harmony with their horses, with no conflict in their aids, especially from their body and seat, was the highlight.

Going bridleless for Linda is about testing the purity and truth of her aids and communication with her horse. Generally watching competition riding be it any discipline in warmup, training or the competition arena we see so much conflict in the communication and discussion between horse and rider.

For a horse, when there is conflict in the rider's aids, ie hands, legs and seat all inadvertently saying different things, the horse must make a choice which to answer. The superseding aid the horse answers first is the seat, and if the rider is giving aids thru their seat that they are not aware of, the rider gets confuse as to why the horse is not doing what their hand or leg has requested, and unfortunately the horse often gets 'punished' to some degree for giving the incorrect answer.

Going bridleless for Linda is the opportunity to test the purity and accuracy of her communication and partnership with her horse. Certainly some horses are easier to ride bridleless than others, especially the more sensitive in tune horses. Training bridleless for us is not 'trick training', but rather a way to refine and test our communication with our horse.

Interested to learn more about how to develop this quality of partnership with your horse and become a rider with a position and aids that creates no conflict or confusion for your horse. Contact Linda to book a lesson, book a spot in any of our upcoming clinics, or organise a clinic in your area.

Keeping with the bridleless theme. Here is the daughter of Cortez, Boulevarde Gabrielle, and I doing fun freestyle to the same music as the previous one with Cortez.
You can tell I had a lot of fun with this one. I think I had only had about 3 training sessions with Gabby Bridleless before we performed at this event.

With all the great videos from the recent bridleless dressage and jumping competition recently held in England I thought I would post the video of the first dressage freestyle I ever did on the amazing Morgan stallion RanchBoss Cortez 15 years ago at the Australian National Morgan Show 2011 in Toowoomba.

Certainly not perfect but it was a lot of fun and I would like to think we got better in our performances over the years.

Going bridleless for me is a fun way of testing my partnership and communication with my horses. Some horses are certainly more easy to ride without a bridle than others.

The boys had their teeth done today. Lusitano stallion Pretzel and his buddy, who he hasn't seen for a while, Licorice, draft x gelding.
Decided they can have a sleep over in the stables to catch up and give Pretzel a chance to do some socialisation training
Both boys are now 4.5yo and ready to start a bit more light riding training over the next few months.
