One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that the pelvic floor is a separate little muscle that just needs strengthening.

In reality, it’s part of a much bigger system. That’s why two women can have the same symptoms but need completely different solutions.

Sometimes strength is part of the answer.

Sometimes coordination is the missing piece.

Sometimes it’s breathing, pressure management, confidence, or gradually rebuilding tolerance to movement.

The good news? Symptoms don’t automatically mean you have to stop doing the things you love.

Well… that went quick!

The last spot in my Sunday Endurance class has now been snapped up, so this block is officially full.

If you were thinking about it and missed out, don’t stress. I’ll be running another block, and you can jump on the waitlist to get first dibs when spots open.

These classes always fill from the waitlist first, so it’s the best way to make sure you don’t miss out next time.

If you’re keen, pop your name down by sending me a DM.

Alternatively, if you can’t wait until the next block you can join me in my regular Strong Mums classes, Monday to Friday, in the park (www.strongmums.com). A great way to keep that engine ticking over until the next block of Endurance Classes start.

And if you were on the fence, take this as your little nudge… the women who have join my Endurance class are building some solid fitness in a really supportive, no-pressure environment.

I’d love to have you in the next round ❤️

A little leak when you run, jump or sneeze might feel common… but it’s not something you just have to put up with.

Over the years working with hundreds of women I’ve heard some mums say they just push through it, some say they avoid certain movements all together, or some just ignore it and hope it’ll sort itself out.

Your pelvic floor and core may need a bit more support than you think, even years after pregnancy and birth.

The last thing I want women to do, however is stop exercising. Inside Strong Mums, we focus on re-building foundations properly so you can run, jump and train with confidence, without second guessing what your pelvic floor will do.

Term two kicks off 20th April 🎉

11 years ago today I became a mum for the first time. Looking back, there’s so much I wish I’d known.

I genuinely thought postnatal pelvic floor and core rehab was only for women who had experienced birth injuries or trauma. I didn’t realise it was something every body benefits from after pregnancy.

I assumed that if someone was running mums and bubs classes, they were qualified to guide postnatal women safely. Unfortunately, this is still not the case- not all trainers have the right education for coaching pre and post natal women (always look for a MumSafe Trainer)

I took my 6-week GP check as a full green light to get straight back into exercise, without really understanding what my body had been through or what it actually needed.

I thought I’d be the same person, just with a baby added in. Same capacity, same energy, same everything. And I really believed I should be able to do it all on my own.

If I was doing it again for the first time, I’d slow things down. I’d get proper support early. I’d focus on rebuilding, not bouncing back. And I’d surround myself with people who actually understand postnatal bodies, not just general fitness. And that is what I want Strong Mums to offer the women who chose to work with me.

If you’re in that season right now, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

“listen to your body, if it feels ok then carry on” … It’s not that it’s bad advice, it’s just advice that’s not good enough.

When you continue to exercise the way you do because you feel ok, you’re likely to miss a few red flags that indicate your pelvic floor or core may be under too much strain. There’s no pain response, and so it’s easy to push through leaking, downwards pressure or coning/doming through the midline.

Better advice would be “if it feels ok AND pelvic floor and core is not under extra strain then carry on but continue to monitor”

A pelvic health physio and MumSafe trainer will be your BFF 👯 if you want to continue exercising throughout your pregnancy and postpartum.

November… where did you GO?!
If you also feel like November sprinted past while you were still tying your shoelaces… same.

Here’s the chaos, joy, sweat and sweetness I packed into the month in biz AND mum life:
1. CrossFit comps with some of my favourite humans and coming 4th in the final! Who am I?! Absolutely riding that high until at least Easter.
2. Food obsession unlocked. The kids helped make dinners (using every pot we own) and thanks to mango season, it’s now illegal in our house to serve a salad without mango.
3. So many new Strong Mums and their adorable bubs. Love the baby snuggles while mum swaps the “baby carry” for a “kettlebell farmer’s carry.”
4. Beach weekends are BACK. I live for eavesdropping on my kids’ unhinged beach chats while they build a sandcastle.
5. Training has been FUN. And somehow, at the ripe age of 42, she got PBs. Aging like a fine Aldi rosé.
6. Our FIRST MumSafe flash mob! Over 200 mums nationwide moving together to shout the message: mums deserve proper support after birth.
7. New hair. Because sometimes self-care is telling your split ends to get in the bin.
8. Planning BIG things for Strong Mums in 2026. Buckle up, it’s going to be juicy!
