Yesterday I sent out a message to all my clients asking them were they ok and reminding them that I’m here if they ever want to talk something through.

When you’re a mum you are very rarely alone- someone always seems to be attached to you or they always need you- but motherhood can also feel very lonely and isolating.

We often put our own needs last and not always consciously. But it all adds up, and before you know it we’re running on empty (mentally and physically) and still trying to give to our family.

Putting your own needs first is not selfish, it’s essential. So, check in with yourself- what do you need and what are you doing to make sure you get it?

If movement, strength and community are on your “need” list, join the term four waitlist to get first dibs on a spot that comes up. Link is on my profile page ❤️

“It won’t be perfect but I’ll do it anyway” is VERY often my mantra when I don’t have as much time as I’d like to train. I might end up with only half an hour to go to the gym, or sometimes I have to skip the gym and go for a very short run… life happens, especially when you’re a mum, but it shouldn’t stop you from taking care of your body through movement.

Give yourself some flexibility while still making movement a regular part of your week.

This week is Women’s Health Week and this year’s theme is three words I want every mum reading this to hold onto: DO IT ANYWAY. Not in a “push through even if you’re on the brink of exhaustion” kinda way, more of “there’s always something you can do even if it’s not what you had planned”.

It’s about taking the small step toward your health even when the day is full and when the conditions are nowhere near perfect… the walk you talked yourself out of because you only had 5 minutes, the glass of water in the afternoon that you didn’t have because you didn’t drink what you were meant to in the morning so why bother now, it’s the ten minutes of rest that you didn’t think were worth it, it’s the snack you needed but didn’t have time to make so you had nothing…it may not be perfect but you do what you can anyway and it adds up.

We’re following the week’s themes day by day, moving through fuelling, movement, rest, mental wellbeing and connection.

Save this and come along for the ride with me.

Postnatal training advice isn’t always as black and white as we’ve been led to believe. Your training should be safe, individualised and still feel like a proper workout.
