ROUND 10 FOOTY TEAMS v THOMSON

Our teams to run out against Thomson tomorrow. The senior side welcomes back Austin Mulvahil and Lachie Zimmer from injury with Jack Beardsell and Matt Kasparian out.

Ladies Day will be on in the rooms so there is no access to the pavilion to watch the footy. The bar and toilets are accessible.

JUNIOR NETBALL MILESTONE - MAEVE CLAPINSKI - 50 GAMES!

Congratulations to Maeve who will be playing her 50th junior netball game for the East Geelong FNC this weekend.

Maeve was part of our 2025 U13 premiership team and has represented East Geelong in the GDFNL representative side.

SENIOR NETBALL MILESTONE - DANI CAMDEN - 100 GAMES!

Congratulations to Dani Camden who plays her 100th Senior match this weekend.

Dani joined East Geelong with Auskick back in 2010, then hit the netball courts at just 9 years old in the U13s and worked her way through the ranks, including a premiership win in the U15s (hopefully more to come 🤞).

After a short stint away in U17s, she came back to be part of the club’s first U19s team.

Dani started playing senior netball when still a junior, and has now become a consistent and valued part of our senior sides.

Huge congratulations on 100 senior games, Dani — such an amazing milestone! 👏

READ THE PLAY ROUND

This weekend, East Geelong FNC will be taking part in Read the Play Round 💙

Read the Play Round is a dedicated initiative recognising the vital role community sport plays in supporting the mental wellbeing of young people. Our 15/U Netball and U16 Football matches will celebrate the values of Respect, Courage and Teamwork, with a Read the Play MVP awarded on the day.

Read The Play has been delivering free mental health education to young people aged 12 to 18 through local sporting clubs for 20 years, supporting more than 30,000 young people across the Geelong and Bellarine region. Every one of their programs is completely free for clubs like ours.

At East Geelong, we are proud to be part of a competition that stands behind the mental health of young people.

ROUND 10 v THOMSON @ HOME!

This week we return to Auswide Plumbing & Civil Oval to take on local rivals Thomson. All the action this week is brought to you by Southern Cross Projects. We thank Jacob Sobey and the team for their support again in 2026.

Saturday is also Ladies Day in the clubrooms raising funds for Pankind. With Ladies Day in the rooms, access will be limited. The bar booth will be open outside and the canteen operating as normal. The rooms will open after the Senior Footy for everyone to come in and enjoy the entertainment in the evening.

JUNIOR FOOTY MATCHES!

This weekends junior footy kicks off Friday night with the McLure U9's at 6pm after Auskick.

The U16's play a curtain raiser to the Reserves at 10am Saturday as part of the Read the Play round.

Sunday we have the U14 Whitley boys at 8:30am at home, followed by a couple of the junior girls games to round out the weekend.

READ THE PLAY ROUND

Thanks to Andrew and Simone from and to the kids and coaches who attended the "Huddle Up" session last night at the club in the lead up to Read the Play round this weekend.

Read the Play is an important local initiative that supports young people to better understand mental health and wellbeing, reduce stigma and know where to turn when they need help.

This weekend the match ball and a medal will be presented after the U16 footy and U15 netball games to the player that best demonstrates the RTP values of courage, respect and teamwork.

Thank you to everyone for getting behind this weekend’s Read the Play Round and helping start positive conversations around mental health. Read the Play Round 2026 is proudly supported by Hamlan Homes, Beyond Bank and K Rock Football.

All our netballers and footballers will be proudly wearing their purple socks!

JUNIOR FOOTY WRAP!

A good weekend for our juniors with plenty of wins for the younger age groups.

The U16's went down to a strong Sharks side in the curtain raiser to the senior footy at home and the U14 girls just went down in a low scoring affair.

The U14 Whitley side played a thrilling draw against St Mary's with a late goal to Jamie McElroy tying the scores. The combined team with Thomson had a good win over Portarlington and are in 4th place on the ladder.
