First TaeKwonDo Duncraig provides traditional martial art and practical self-defence training to children (6 years+), adolescents, and adults. Our members train twice per week and also have the option of attending other First Tae Kwon Do classes at other venues throughout the week at no extra cost. We provide a non-contact style of training, and do not participate in martial art competitions such

as tournaments. Our training focuses on both personal development and being realistically prepared for self-defence situations, with the clear recognition that avoidance is best. Our members include schoolchildren, university students, and business professionals who understand the importance of honing their situational awareness and training to be mentally and physically ready for self-defence action, if the need should arise. We invite prospective members to come along to a class to see what our training is like, and to apply for a free, no-obligation introductory class. Check out 1st Kup, Ruby from our Duncraig Dojang successfully breaking 2 boards with a powerful side kick during her Pre-Grading Check session held earlier this month 👊

Board breaking is one of the many challenging components students must demonstrate on their journey towards Black Belt, requiring not only strong technique, but also confidence, focus and commitment under pressure.

Ruby showed fantastic control, excellent kicking technique and the determination needed to take the next step in her TaeKwonDo journey. A great achievement and well deserved result!

Happy Mother’s Day from First TKD WA! 💐 Today we celebrate the incredible mothers across all our WA branches who continue to inspire us both on and off the dojang floor. Our 2026 Mother’s Day Collage is a tribute to the women who not only encourage their children through their TaeKwonDo journey, but who also have the courage and commitment to train alongside them. 🥋

🎉 Celebrating Success: First Tae Kwon Do WA 1st Dan Black Belt Promotions 🥋We’re proud to celebrate the achievement of Asst Ins Jack from our Duncraig Dojang at last month's Black Belt Examinations, 14 September 2025. The day was filled with dedication, focus, and pride.
*Jack was promoted from Junior Black Belt to 1st Dan Black Belt. Jack earned his 1st Dan after 9 years of training, including 2 years as a Junior Black Belt.
At First Tae Kwon Do WA, earning a Black Belt represents much more than just physical ability & refined technique — it’s a symbol of consistency, perseverance, and the embodiment of Tae Kwon Do’s core values. 🌟
