This powerhouse 6-piece band was formed by sports broadcaster David Tapp and features professional musicians, including former Choirboys drummer Tony Le Rhodes .

🏆 BEN TWIST
One of Australian bowls’ biggest names and fresh off winning the **2026 Australian Indoor Singles Championship**. A Commonwealth Games silver medallist, multiple Australian Open champion and Australian representative, Twist has won just about everywhere he has played. And when the pressure comes on at Dubbo, we already know he can deliver the big bowl.

🔥 NATHAN BLACK
One of the most exciting players in Australian bowls. A former World Under-25 Indoor Singles Champion , Black has also been a standout in the Bowls Premier League, earning MVP and All-Star honours. Big talent, plenty of confidence and never afraid of the big occasion.

🌍 JACK McSHANE
Still one of the young guns of the sport, but already a World Champion!Jack claimed the 2025 World Bowls Indoor Singles Championship** after also winning the **2024 Australian Indoor Championship. He has quickly established himself as one of the brightest talents in world bowls.

The perfect man to complete this powerful four. Joey is a quality St Johns Park campaigner and claimed the club’s **2025/26 Major Singles Championship. He knows his role, handles pressure and has already proven he belongs on the biggest stage at Dubbo.

The countdown is well and truly on — just 1 WEEK until our premier event of the year, the **Inland Petroleum City of Dubbo Fours!
For the past four events, we’ve proudly backed a charity, and this year we reckon we’ve picked an absolute beauty — WINGS , and of course the little legend himself, Dollar For Dusty! 💙

Dusty has just finished his incredible walk to Canberra, and fair dinkum… what a champion! A massive effort from a little bloke with a huge heart, and everyone at Club Dubbo is proud to get right behind him.

You’ll see Dusty’s posters around the Club now, and next week they’ll be on the tables as well. We’ll also have a few things happening throughout the tournament with proceeds heading straight towards Dusty and Little Wings .

We’re now just ONE WEEK away from the stars arriving at Club Dubbo for the world’s richest fours event ! Inland Petroleum City of Dubbo Fours.

The greens will be open on Monday for players to get a feel for the famous Roos surface , enjoy a few refreshments, and get ready for a huge night of Calcutta action and player interviews , hosted by none other than Lee Stinson ! 🎤

Now it’s time to unveil another team that might just fancy causing a few upsets against the big boys…

WELCOME TO THE BARGO BUSHRANGERS!

A big thanks to Ben McCall for putting together a very strong combination for their first crack at the tournament.

🔥 GARRY BROWN
Garry has been part of the Bushrangers for the past year after moving down from Brisbane powerhouse Pine Rivers. He brings plenty of experience, with multiple Region and Club titles to his name, along with years of representative bowls.

🔥 MICHAEL “SPONGY” SPONG
Spongy brings an abundance of talent and experience, having won multiple **Club, Region and State titles**. He was the winning skipper of the **2024/25 Bowls NSW State Senior Triples** and is also a former **Bowls NSW State Pairs runner-up**. A regular representative player for the Nepean Region, he certainly knows his way around the big stage.

🔥 STEVE SPROD
Steve has also joined the Bushrangers in the past 12 months and has wasted no time setting the standard. This year he was named **Nepean Region Senior Player of the Year**, reached the **Bowls NSW State Senior Singles semi-final**, and was runner-up in the **Bowls NSW Champion of Champion Pairs**. He has also been a regular representative player in both the Illawarra and Nepean Regions.

🔥 **BEN McCALL**
Ben has been around the Bushrangers for the past four years and brings plenty of representative experience himself. This year he was part of a team that reached the **2025/26 Bowls NSW State Triples semi-finals** and was also runner-up in the **Bowls NSW Champion of Champion Pairs**.

There’s plenty of quality in this side, and while they might be newcomers to the event, they certainly won’t be coming to Dubbo just to make up the numbers.

Could the Bargo Bushrangers be one of those teams to knock over a few big names and sneak their way into the money? 👀

🏆 WEST DUBBO MINOR SINGLES – FINALS GETTING CLOSER! 🏆

Our Minor Singles Championships continued over the weekend, with a few surprises, some very close contests and a couple of big winning margins!

In the Women’s Minor Singles, we are now down to our two finalists. Congratulations to Aileen Beecroft and Kelly Dart, who have booked their places in the final. 👏

Both semi-finals went right down to the wire, with plenty of pressure before our two finalists emerged!

The Men’s Minor Singles started with Round 1 on Saturday before the quarter-finals were played yesterday. After another entertaining day of bowls, just four players remain:

The men’s semi-finals will be played this Saturday, 19 September at 1:00pm.

🥇Scott De Jongh – Australian Open Champion and proven big-event performer.

💪 Clinton Bailey – Australian Open Fours runner-up with plenty of major tournament experience.

⭐Indi Conlan – 2025 Queensland State Singles Champion** and one of Queensland’s rising stars.

🔥 Meegan Harper an Austral bowler, Australian Open competitor and, most importantly… **the boss at MRH!** She’ll be hoping she can boss this team around just as well on the greens!

The Inland Petroleum City of Dubbo Fours is getting closer, and we’re thrilled to welcome 2 teams from Engadine Cougars to Club Dubbo — one packed with some of the game’s exciting young talent, and another loaded with experience, state representation and championship pedigree!
