Dubbo Hippos Triathlon Club

Dubbo Hippos Triathlon Club The club first started in 1990 and consisted of competitor's from Wellington and Dubbo. Meetings use to be held in the Geurie pub.

The original members in the late 80's, use to run races at Burrendong Dam and in Dubbo. These races were usually only one event per year with as many as 500 competitors with numerous elite athletes participating. The club evolved into the Dubbo Triathlon Club, which today consists of about 70 active senior members and as many junior members who regularly compete in array of events for all levels o

f athletes. Club races are now held regularly through out the season (late Spring to early Autumn) in the Macquarie River. Dubbo Triathlon Club normally conducts up to 8 senior race days and 3 junior race days each year, these consist of various lengths and age categories. The club also participates in the Central West Interclub Challenge Shield where they battle it out with various other clubs in races conducted in Orange, Mudgee, Cowra, Bathurst and Dubbo. Over the past three seasons Dubbo Triathlon Club has held 3 very successful junior races at the Dubbo Aquatic Centre where juniors participated in the series of races. We are committed to maintaining and where possible expanding the junior involvement in our club. The most exciting and satisfying outcome of the junior races, apart from the happy proud faces of the kids, is the playful pressure the kids put on mum and dad to do the adult races!!!

📣 Dubbo Tri Club AGM – Everyone Welcome!

Members, prospective members and anyone interested in the future of Dubbo Tri Club are warmly invited to join our upcoming AGM via Teams.

Our club is fortunate to have an experienced and dedicated committee, and we're keen to welcome a couple more people to help share the load and bring fresh ideas. If you've ever wondered how you might get involved, this is a great opportunity to find out more.

Committee involvement doesn't have to mean a huge commitment. There are plenty of ways to contribute in a low-pressure but meaningful way that helps keep Dubbo Tri Club thriving for all members.

Whether you're interested in taking on a committee role, helping with specific projects or events, considering becoming a member, or simply learning more about how the club operates, we'd love to have you join the meeting and be part of the conversation.

Big day out for Dubbo Tri Club in Warren 🙌

We had 9 of our crew make the trip across for Warren Triathlon annual event, and what a day it turned on — perfect conditions for racing from start to finish.

The course kicked off with laps in the local 50m pool, before heading out onto ride loops around Warren, and wrapping up with a run up and down one of the main streets. There was endless cheering and support amongst the spectators. A great setup that really showcased the town.

The juniors got things underway early, and both short and long course athletes tackled the same course with different lap counts.

The feedback from everyone was overwhelmingly positive — there’s something pretty special about the Warren community and the way they put this event together 👏

RESULTS:
As was mentioned earlier a tight finish in the main Super Sprint Handicap 125m swim - 9km Bike- 2km run with the top 6 separated by only 20 seconds.

1st Christine Duncan, 2nd Daniel Roberts, 3rd David Cook

The juniors saw 8 kids from age 5 to 10 go around a run-ride-run duathlon.
1st Harvey Simmons, 2nd Harry Orford, 3rd Toby Orford

And finally we had 7 awesome Minis all 5 and under had a good crack at a mini run-ride(with training wheels or balance bike)-run duathlon.
