Our junior program ranges from Cricket Blast through to Under 16s, while our senior teams compete across 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade in Dubbo District Cricket

PRE-SEASON CONTINUES THIS SATURDAY

The Tigers are back into it again this Saturday from 2:00–4:00pm as we continue building towards the 2026/27 season.

We’ll keep sharpening up with a mix of match scenarios, fielding work, batting, bowling and competitive game-based activities as we get closer to Round 1.

All senior players pushing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade this season.

New and returning players are always welcome.

Career Highlight - 2018/19 the year Newtown won all premierships except 2nds. I was lucky enough to be in the Kelly Cup. It was a very special time at the club.
Biggest Rivals - no one specifically however generally anyone who i use to play with up at indoor Cricket, it was good to play them in outdoor.
Fav sporting team - Depends on the game. Syd Thunder, Manly Sea Eagles, Dallas Mavericks, Holden...

HUGE TURNOUT FOR PRE-SEASON TODAY

What a great afternoon for Newtown Cricket Club, with players represented from 1st Grade right through to our U12s — an awesome sign for the club as we continue building towards the season.

We got through our warm-up before being treated to a pretty heavy shower, but once it passed everyone stuck around, got straight back into it and made the most of the afternoon.

The highlight was seeing all the nets full, with players across different grades and age groups training alongside each other and putting in plenty of quality work.

A big thank you to everyone who came down, especially those who stayed through the weather and helped create such a strong club atmosphere.

Plenty more to come as we keep building.

NEWTOWN PRE-SEASON + FATHER’S DAY CLUB AFTERNOON

We’re back again this Saturday for another big Newtown pre-season session as we continue building towards the 2026/27 season.

Training will run from 2:00pm–4:00pm at Bob Dowling Field, with another strong focus on quality cricket work, team standards and preparing properly for the season ahead.

This weekend will also be a special one for the club as we celebrate Father’s Day.

We’d love to welcome all dads of our junior players down to training to watch the session, see how the club is shaping and spend some time around the club.

We’re also inviting the kids of our senior players and dads to come down, enjoy a Saturday in the sun and be part of the afternoon as we welcome spring and celebrate the great fathers who help make Newtown what it is.

It will also be a chance to remember and acknowledge the fathers and club people who have gone before us and helped build the foundations of the great club we have today.

Following training, we’d love everyone to continue the afternoon together with players, partners and families at our major sponsor, the South Dubbo Tavern, for dinner from 6:00pm.

So get the cricket gear ready, bring the family and come down for what should be a great Newtown Saturday.

🏏 SENIOR REGISTRATIONS ARE OPEN 🏏

Dubbo Newtown Cricket Club is now taking registrations for the 2026/27 senior season, with plans to field teams in 1st Grade, 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade.

Whether you’re returning for another year, new to the area, or looking to get back into cricket, we’d love to have you involved with the Tigers this season.

Senior Registration: $380.59
This includes your playing uniform for the season.

Pre-season training is now underway every Saturday from 2:00–4:00pm and will continue each week through to the start of the season.

Registering early will help us lock in numbers, plan our teams and continue building towards the season ahead.

🐯 SAVE THE DATE – 60TH ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND 🏏

Dubbo Newtown Cricket Club will celebrate 60 years of history on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th February 2027.

This will be a special weekend to bring together past and present players, families, supporters and friends of the club as we celebrate the people, teams, stories and memories that have shaped Newtown since 1966.

We want to see Tigers from every era come back together, reconnect with old teammates and help us celebrate six decades of Newtown Cricket Club.

So for now, save the date and start spreading the word.

Share this event with your friends, old teammates, former coaches and anyone who has been part of the Newtown story over the past 60 years.

More details on the weekend and celebrations will be announced soon.

🏏 Pre-Season Session Wrap – Another Strong Saturday for the Tigers 🐯

Another quality pre-season session today with strong numbers from our juniors and First Grade group as we continue building towards the 2026/27 season.

We started with a full-club warm-up, with today’s focus on core strength and endurance, before moving into the nets.

Batters worked in pairs and were challenged through a range of match scenarios, including:
Starting an innings and building a partnership
Managing the middle overs

Finishing an innings and chasing under pressure
We then finished with some throwing fundamentals and competitive fielding challenges, with an emphasis on staying composed, communicating well and executing skills when the pressure was on.

A big highlight was the medicine ball challenge, completed by everyone and providing plenty of laughs to start off the session.

Next week we’ll also be celebrating Father’s Day, so we’d love to invite all dads, as well as the kids of dads playing with the club this season, to come down and be part of the afternoon.

Another great step forward as we continue building towards a big 60th season for Newtown.
