The Drouin Cricket Club would like to also echo the Football Club's condolences to the Emmerson Family on the passing of Doug.

A great, passionate man who always gave you the time of day and just LOVED his cricket and all the finer details of the game!

A club president and premiership coach (x2) at junior level and too this day we still use the bowling machine he so kindly donated to the club many years ago! Vale Doug Emmerson

VALE Dr. Doug Emmerson

The Drouin Football and Netball Clubs would like to express our condolences to The Emmerson Family, following the passing of Dr Doug Emmerson.

Doug was passionate about Drouin sport and supported many locals via Drouin Chiropractic Wellness Center - in getting back on, or staying on the ground or courts.

Doug had close to 40 years experience as a Chiropractor and for 33 of those years, he was positioned at 151 Princes Way in Drouin which is a testament to his commitment to the community.

Doug loved Cricket! And he had a bit to do with the local cricket scene when his boys were growing up, playing juniors for Drouin. This Included a 3 year stint as President from 99-02 and also Coaching the U/16s to a flag in 98/99 Season.

In recent times, he also nominated the Football Club for a donation amount.

His knowledge, kindness and always pleasant demeanor will be missed by the local community.

As a show of respect, the Drouin Football and Netball Clubs will black arm bands this Saturday vs Leongatha FC.

RIP Dougy

👀 Recruit Alert 👀

We are thrilled to announce Damith Mapa Ralalage (Mapa) will be joining us for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

Mapa brings with him a wealth of experience in the game. More recently, he has played and coached with the Mordialloc CC -11 years (Southern Bayside competition) and the Berwick CC - 2 years in the DDCA.

A top order batsman and a very talented keeper.

His stats over both competitions extends to over 4600 runs and 220 + dismissals at Division 1 level.

As well as his impressive on field game, Mapa also brings with him an ECB Level 2 COACH Accreditation which, as a club, we are keen to tap into .

A great addition to our club, please join us in welcoming Mapa and his family to the DCC.

🏏COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT 🏏

The Drouin Cricket Club is excited to announce Troy Lehman as Head Coach for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
Troy's passion and love for our club are unmatched, a true Drouin person!

Troy brings with him leadership on and off field, as well as great knowledge and a true love for the game. Troy's career to date spans over many years, with stints at Pakenham CC, Longwarry 4 years, (3 as coach) Tooradin CC, and obviously Drouin CC, (7 years and counting).

There has been numerous league and club awards across all clubs. Most recently awarded the Ron Harper medal for season 25/26 as our Div 1 player off the year voted on by his peers. As most know, this will be Troy's 2nd stint with us as coach, but from way back then, Troy has matured a lot as both a cricketer but more importantly as a person and leader, and we can't wait to see what he can achieve 2nd time round.

We as a club are 100% behind Troy, we believe the experiences he has had, the respect of the playing group he has and his on field leadership will make him the perfect fit in leading our club going forward as Head Coach.

Can't wait to get stuck in.

Go Hawks!!

Stay tuned for our captains/ coaching structure, announcements. Troy Lehman

THANK YOU, BUT NOT GOODBYE.

The Drouin Cricket Club would like to thank and acknowledge Norm Berry for his contribution over the last 3 seasons.

Norm's signing as coach 3 years ago was seen by some as a bit left field, but where we were as a club at that present time, we knew we had our man.

Although we never got the ultimate prize, runners up twice in Div 1, but having success in some lower grades premierships and overseeing some junior success as the head coach.

We see Norm's time with us as a huge success, increasing senior numbers, club culture, and mateship. These are all things Norm has driven in his time here. Be it Div 1 captain or a fill-in player for Div 5, he treated everyone as an equal and would happily sit all night with a Johnnie in hand for a chat. The club is clearly in a much better position than when Norm walked through the doors and a massive reason for this is Norm's presence and influence.

We at Drouin are so grateful for the time and effort Norm gave us. We are all lucky to say that Norm was once our coach, but now he is our mate.

This decision was not made lightly and was a mutual agreement between all involved.

But this is not the end for Norm at the DCC. He will continue to be involved with our coaching group next year, and hopefully beyond❤️❤️
Thanks, Norm
Forever a Hawk

PS - please keep an eye out for further announcements over the coming days.
