🌟 TEAM OF THE WEEK | AAW RAZORBACKS 🌟

This week we're shining the spotlight on our amazing AAW Razorbacks! 💙🩷

Led by Coach Tom Soccio, this group embodies everything that makes our club special — support, determination, and plenty of fun along the way.

Last weekend, the Razorbacks delivered one of their strongest performances of the season, showcasing all the hard work they've been putting in at training. From disciplined defending and smart positioning to patient attacking play, the team worked together brilliantly and backed each other every step of the way.

What stands out most about this group isn't just their effort on the field — it's the culture they've built off it. Whether they're dancing on the sidelines, singing at the top of their lungs, or celebrating every little moment together, they bring incredible energy and positivity wherever they go.

For the Razorbacks, being part of Douglas Park Wilton FC is about more than football. It's about friendship, community, staying active, and proving that you're never too old to enjoy the game you love with great people by your side.

When asked to describe their team spirit in one phrase, their answer was simple:

✨ Controlled Chaos ✨

And honestly, we think that sums them up perfectly.

A proud moment this season has been seeing the growth of the group — the commitment at training, the support they show one another, and the way they continue to improve together every week.

🎵 Team Anthem: Where's Your Head At – Basement Jaxx (although it may have been unofficially banned after getting stuck in everyone's heads thanks to the goalkeeper 😂)

⚽️ Weekend Game Update ⚽️

Due to the weather and current ground conditions, all games this weekend have unfortunately been called off and moved to next weekend.

We know the kids were excited to get out there, but player safety and protecting the grounds always comes first 💙

Fingers crossed the weather gives us a break so we can get back to training next week and see our legends back out on the field 🤞⚽️

Stay warm, stay dry, and we’ll keep everyone updated! 🌧️💙

⚽️🌧 GROUNDS CLOSED 🌧⚽️

Due to the ongoing wet weather and to help protect our playing surfaces, the grounds are currently closed.

We know the kids are keen to get back out there, but player safety and preserving the fields for the rest of the season comes first 💙

We will reassess the grounds on Thursday and provide a further update then regarding training and weekend fixtures.

⚽💙SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT – MAXENG 💙⚽

At Douglas Park Wilton Football Club, we are incredibly grateful for the support of local businesses like Maxeng who help keep grassroots football strong within our community 🙌

Maxeng was founded by owners Mark and Alex — with the name “Maxeng” coming from MA (Mark), AX (Alex) and Engineering. For the past 12 years, Maxeng has been supplying waste handling systems to the print and packaging industries, as well as supplying and installing steel belts for manufacturing plants across Australia and New Zealand.

Working with suppliers from around the world including Denmark, France, Italy, USA, Malaysia and China, Maxeng continues to deliver innovative engineering solutions while staying true to one simple philosophy:
👉 “We like to have fun whilst getting the job done.”

Their reason for supporting DPWFC is one that truly reflects what community football is all about.

“Because my son plays there and I greatly appreciate the impact the club has had on his life. The guidance and support given by the men’s team has been fantastic. Owen started playing with them when he was 15 and they’ve played a large part in making him the outstanding young man he is today.”

Maxeng believes football is far more than just a game:
“Football teaches many life lessons and sponsoring a club that keeps playing fees low gives everyone in the community the opportunity to benefit.”

When asked about volunteers within the club community, Maxeng shared a message we think many can relate to 😂👏

“Be nice to the volunteers. Don’t suggest things they could do — get in there and do them yourself. You’ll meet lots of nice people volunteering

Unfortunately, our sports grounds were vandalised late last night on Friday 22nd May.

There is damage to equipment and facility storage, and there has been graffiti sprayed across walls and doors throughout the grounds. This behaviour is incredibly disappointing and not reflective of what we know of our community.

If anyone saw any suspicious activity, vehicles, or people in the area around this time, please contact us directly or report any information to Police.

These acts are committed by faceless individuals who need support around them as much as possible to steer them towards better paths. Our community is the lifeblood of our club. We show up, show respect, and support each other.

We appreciate everyone for showing up today and delivering another fantastic home round. A big thank you as well to Wollondilly Shire Council staff who were responsive and very helpful to ensure games could proceed today. 💙⚽️🧡

⚽️💜 FEMALES IN FOOTBALL WEEK 💜⚽️

What an incredible night at our Females in Football Week group training session! 🙌

There were so many smiles, laughs, giggles and amazing moments of teamwork and partnership between all of our girls and ladies who attended 💪⚽️

From our youngest players through to our women coaches, volunteers and supporters — it was so special to see everyone coming together, encouraging one another and simply having FUN 💜

A huge thank you to everyone who joined in and helped create such a positive and empowering atmosphere.

💖⚽ FEMALES IN FOOTBALL WEEK – UNDER 9 PINK ⚽💖

This week we’re shining the spotlight on our amazing Under 9 Pink team at Douglas Park Wilton Football Club — a group of supportive, determined and energetic girls who continue to make everyone at the club incredibly proud. 🙌

Led by Coach Jess and Team Manager Samira, this team is showing exactly what football is all about — teamwork, confidence, resilience and friendship. 💙

Over the past few weeks, the girls have been working hard at training on:
⚽ Spreading out across the field
⚽ Using their voices and calling for the ball
⚽ Building strong passing combinations

And it’s been amazing to see them putting these skills into action during games. Their confidence continues to grow every single week!

One thing that stands out most about this team is their spirit. No matter how challenging a game may be, the girls walk off the field smiling, supporting one another and proud of the effort they’ve given. That united mindset is something really special. 💫

A special shoutout goes to Lexie for her incredible effort this season. She has stepped up in goals with bravery, determination and a willingness to keep learning every week. Watching her grow in confidence and make the position her own has been fantastic. 👏🧤

💐 Happy Mother’s Day 💐

Today we celebrate all the amazing mums, grandmothers, carers and mother figures who are part of our Douglas Park Wilton Football Club family ❤️⚽

Thank you for the early mornings, sideline support, endless washing, snack runs, cheering from the sidelines and everything you do behind the scenes to help our players enjoy the game they love.

Your support, encouragement and dedication help make our club such a special community.

We hope you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day and get thoroughly spoiled today — you deserve it! 💙
