UPDATE- The U11 Sugar Gliders Match has been relocated to Dorrigo at 11:30am!

It's another huge day of football for the Dorrigo Highlanders, with three teams playing at home and three teams travelling down the coast to represent the club.

🏡 Home at the Dorrigo Rec Grounds:
⏰ 10:00am – U9s kick off the day
⏰ 11:30am – U14 Girls take to the field
⏰ 1:00pm – Div 2 Women wrap up the home fixtures

Come on down to the Rec Grounds, grab something delicious from the canteen, cheer on our players, and enjoy a fantastic day of local soccer. Your support from the sidelines makes all the difference!

⚽️ LATE MATCH REPORT – OVER 32 WOMEN BLACKBUTTS ⚽️

The Over 32 Women Blackbutts were the only Dorrigo Highlanders side in action last week with all other teams being off due to the King’s Birthday long weekend.

Last Monday evening, the Blackbutts travelled to York Street to take on Northern Storm in what was a very chilly and windy encounter. As always, matches against Storm proved to be a tight contest, but the Blackbutts held their nerve and came away with a well-earned 2-0 victory.

The team then backed up on Thursday night, making the trip to Nambucca to face the Strikers. Ravaged by illness, the side was left with just one substitute, but the players dug deep and put together an impressive performance.

Despite creating plenty of attacking opportunities, the Strikers' goalkeeper was in outstanding form and kept the Blackbutts scoreless until the 18th minute, when Allison finally broke through to find the back of the net. From there, the Blackbutts found their rhythm, adding another six goals, while the defence stood strong to secure a convincing 7-0 win.

Congratulations to the Blackbutts on two fantastic performances and a perfect week on the road! ⚽

Our U14 Blue Gums are on the road tonight, heading to Coffs Harbour for a wet weather make-up match against the Coffs United Lionesses.

🕠 Kick-off: 5:30pm

If you're down on the coast this afternoon, we'd love to see plenty of Highlanders supporters on the sidelines cheering our girls on as they continue to represent the club with pride.

🚧 COMMUNITY SUPPORT NEEDED 🚧

The Dorrigo Highlanders Football Club is calling on our members, families, supporters and the wider community to help advocate for much-needed repairs to the car park surrounding the Dorrigo Recreation Ground.

This car park is used every week by hundreds of local players, volunteers, officials and spectators attending football, rugby and other community events. It is also a popular stopping point for travellers visiting Dorrigo, providing access to public toilets and recreational facilities.

Unfortunately, the condition of the car park has continued to deteriorate, creating safety concerns and making access difficult, particularly during and after wet weather.

We are asking everyone who uses these facilities to take just a few minutes to lodge a service request with Bellingen Shire Council. The more requests Council receives, the stronger the message that this important community asset requires attention.

Long Weekend Football Update

With the long weekend upon us, there are no matches scheduled this weekend.

While there won't be any teams taking the field, it's a great opportunity for players, coaches, volunteers and supporters to enjoy a well-earned break and recharge before another busy round of football.

We look forward to seeing everyone back on the pitch next week as the season continues.

⚽⚽MATCH REPORT⚽⚽

With the majority of matches washed out due to the constant rain, there isn't a lot to report this week. However, after what feels like an endless stretch of wet weather, it has certainly been great to finally see the sun shining again!

Last Thursday, the Over 32 Women Blackbutts managed to secure a last-minute spot at the synthetic fields after their original fixture was impacted by the weather. With heavy rain falling as late as 3pm, there were doubts about whether the match would go ahead at all. Fortunately, the clouds cleared, the rain eased, and the team was treated to perfect conditions under a clear evening sky.

The synthetic surface made for a fast-paced contest, and with only one substitute available, the Blackbutts were forced to work hard from start to finish. Their determination paid off with an impressive 5-0 victory.

On Monday night, the women travelled to York Street to take on Northern Storm in a rescheduled fixture. Despite being off the plateau, it was a cold evening, and the Storm proved to be a very defensive opponent. The Blackbutts had to work tirelessly for every opportunity, creating numerous chances while keeping the opposition's attack under control.

After a strong team performance, Dorrigo came away with a well-earned 2-0 win, continuing their excellent run of form and capping off a successful few days for the side.

Thursday night sees the Over 32 Women Blackbutts back on the road as they head to Nambucca to take on the Strikers.

The rest of the club will enjoy the long weekend off!

The Over 32 Women Blackbutts head to Coffs Harbour this evening for a wet weather make-up match, kicking off at 7:55pm.

After plenty of rain disruptions across the region, the Blackbutts are ready to get back on the pitch and make the most of the opportunity under lights.

Good luck to all the players and safe travels to everyone making the trip down the mountain. Get around the women and show your support! ⚽💚💛
