⚽️ MATCH REPORT | FINALS FOOTBALL! ⚽️

THURSDAY

The Over 32 Blackbutts hosted their final home game of the regular season, welcoming Boambee to the Dorrigo Rec in much nicer conditions than their previous meeting! 🌤️

It was a great back-and-forth contest, with both teams creating plenty of opportunities but neither able to find the back of the net. After a hard-fought match, the final score was 0-0. 🤝

🏆 BACK-TO-BACK MINOR PREMIERS! 🏆

As a club, the Dorrigo Highlanders would like to extend a massive congratulations to our Over 32 Blackbutts, who have been crowned the 2026 Masters Minor Premiers! 🎉

The women have backed up their 2025 success to claim the Minor Premiership for the second consecutive season — an incredible achievement and a testament to their commitment and consistency throughout the year. 👏🖤💛

The Blackbutts now head to the Coffs Harbour Synthetics this Thursday to take on Northern Storm, with a spot in the Grand Final on Friday 11 September up for grabs.

SATURDAY

The U9 Quolls and U11 Sugar Gliders finished off their seasons in style!

Both teams have shown exceptional skill development, friendship and teamwork throughout the season, and it has been amazing to watch their progress from week to week.

From learning new skills to supporting their teammates and, most importantly, having fun, both groups should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved this season. 👏

A huge thank you to all the players, coaches, managers, volunteers and families who have supported our youngest Highlanders throughout the year. 💛💚

We can't wait to see what the future holds for these two fantastic groups!

🔥 CEDARS WIN A NAIL-BITER! 🔥

The Div 2 Cedars also headed down the coast this weekend for their finals clash against Corindi.

The match got off to a tough start, with Corindi finding the back of the net three times in quick succession. But the Cedars weren't about to give up! 💪

The ladies fought their way back into the contest in the second half, producing an incredible comeback to level the scores at 3-3 at the final whistle! 😮‍💨

With everything on the line, the match headed to penalty shootouts — and what followed was an absolute nail-biter! ⚡️

Both teams remained evenly matched from the spot until an exceptional save from Shyla put the Cedars in front! 🧤🔥 (Check out the video!)

MATCH REPORT ⚽️💚

Thursday Night

The Over 32 Blackbutts hit the road and headed down to York Street to take on Northern Storm. As always, the ladies put in another fantastic performance, with the goals shared between a number of players.

The Blackbutts came away with a convincing 6–1 victory! 🙌⚽️

Saturday

It was a busy Saturday for the Highlanders, with two matches at home and two on the road. ⚽️

U9 Quolls

The U9 Quolls hit the road and headed to Urunga for their second-last match of the season against the Raiders.

The kids have put in so much effort all season, and it has been fantastic to see them continue to have a great time every time they take to the field. 💚⚽️

They will host the Nambucca Strikers next Saturday for their final match of the season. We can't wait to see them finish the season with a bang!

U11 Sugar Gliders

The U11 Sugar Gliders had another great match this weekend, hosting the Coffs Coast Tigresses at home.

The girls have really found their way this season, and we are so proud of their commitment to each other and their love of the game. 💚

Their final match of the season will see them head down the mountain to Forsyth Park to take on the Coffs City United Lionesses.

U13 Wallabies

The U13 Wallabies hosted the Coffs City United Lions in their final match of the season.

The boys played a really great match and have shown some amazing growth and skill development since they first started playing together back in May. It has been fantastic to watch their progress throughout the season, and we hope they continue next season and come back together stronger than ever! 💪⚽️

We would also like to give a special thank you to Robert Miller for taking the time out of his weekend and putting the boys' match before his own game to be our Club Ref. 🙌

Volunteers really do make the difference, and we are incredibly grateful to have parents who are willing to step up and help out. 💚

Highlanders Men

The Div 3 Highlanders Men headed to Corindi for their final match of the season.

Corindi matches are always a good outing, with plenty of banter along the way! 😆 With only 11 players available to make the game, it was always going to be an arm wrestle, but the team battled hard and only went down 3–0 — a much better outing than their earlier match against Corindi this season.

A great effort from the men to finish off the season! 💚⚽️

Weekend Match Report ⚽💙

What a weekend of football for the Highlanders! 💙⚽

Thursday

The Over 32 Women were once again affected by a forfeit due to travel restrictions. It has been a very interrupted season for the team, but their drive, commitment and love of the game hasn’t wavered. We’re incredibly proud of the Blackbutts and their continued dedication! 💪🖤

Saturday

🦘 U9 Quolls
The Quolls showed plenty of grit and determination this week as they travelled to Toormina to face Sawtell Spirit. With just two weeks remaining in their season, we can’t wait to see the team finish with a bang! 👏⚽

🦋 U11 Sugar Gliders
The girls headed down the mountain to take on the Boambee Eagles. They are making the most of their season and playing some of their best football yet! With a home game and an away game still to come, there’s plenty more to look forward to. 💪

🦘 U13 Wallabies
The Wallabies are really hitting their stride in the back half of the season! The boys are working brilliantly together and putting the skills they learn at training into action each week. We are so impressed by their improvement and development. 👏

🌿 U14 Blue Gums
The Blue Gums played their final match of the season at home against top-of-the-table Northern Storm Chasers. Facing a fierce opponent, the girls battled hard right until the final whistle.

While they couldn’t come away with the win, the Blue Gums have had an incredibly impressive season and should be immensely proud of everything they have achieved. 👏 What a season, girls!

🌲 Div 2 Cedars
The Cedars travelled to Corindi to take on the Breakers in their final regular-season match. Despite a 2–0 loss, the women have secured their place in the finals for the second season in a row! 🎉⚽

It has been fantastic to see the continued growth of this team, with many of our juniors stepping up into senior competition this season, alongside some new faces who have taken to soccer like a duck to water! 🦆

🔥 Div 3 Highlanders
Another incredibly close match for the Highlanders as they hosted the Woolgoolga Wolves at home.

The match remained deadlocked for the full 90 minutes, with neither team able to find the back of the net. A hard-fought 0–0 draw! 👏

The Highlanders will head to Corindi this weekend for their final match of the season. Let’s get behind them and finish the season strong! ⚽
