Schembri’s Taekwondo Bundoora & Doreen Dojangs end of Term & Easter Break 🐰

As Term 1 comes to a close, we just want to say a big thank you to all of our students and families for a fantastic start to the year. It’s been great seeing everyone training hard, improving their skills, and supporting each other on the mats.

Our final class for Term 1 will be Thursday 2 April.

There will be a Holiday Program starting Monday 6th & Wednesday 8th plus following Monday & Wednesday at Bundoora.

JUNIORS - 6pm - 7pm

SENIORS - 7pm - 8:30pm

🥋 Classes will resume for Term 2 on Monday 20 April.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter and enjoys the break. Keep practicing your techniques (even just a little!) and we look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed and ready for another great term.

Taebaek 품새 태백 🥋

The legendary King Dangun founded a nation in Taebaek, near Korea’s biggest mountain Baekdoo. Baekdoo is a known symbol for Korea. The definition of the word taebaek is literally “lightness”. Every movement in this poomse is intended to be not only be exact and fast, but with determination and hardness resembling the mountain Baekdoo, the origin of the nation of Korea.

Understanding the correct application of technique in Poomsae involves moving beyond mere memorization of patterns to grasping the “why” behind each movement (bunkai/oyo), emphasizing precision, breathing, and the, balance of power. It is the practice of choreographed, simulated combat that requires combining proper technique, power, and rhythm to create a fluid, effective performance.
