Tennis is still going despite the “off season” !!
We still get 2-4 courts each Saturday.
It’s a great time to come and try if you’ve never been to our club before.
Very relaxed, social setting.
We will continue to play so long as the sun shines and the rain stays away!

🎾🏆🏆𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲, 𝗦𝗲𝘁, 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵🏆🏆🎾
What an incredible 2025-2026 season at the Donnybrook Tennis Club! 🎾

​We started the season off in our newly renovated clubrooms and the courts have been buzzing ever since with 64 members and over 50 juniors, the energy this year has been unmatched. We celebrated major milestones on and off the court, including a successful Open Day with many new and old faces. Pennants was a huge success with four teams and a big shoutout to the A3 Jazz team for making it into the Grand Final!
We ran many high-stakes tournaments, and fun community events like our Quiz Night and "Bushies vs Townies" showdown.

​A massive thank you to our hardworking committee, each person plays an important role in keeping our club running smoothly.

Our appreciation is also extended to our sponsors: Donnybrook IGA, Donnybrook Farm Service, Hastie Wastie and The Donnybrook Men's Shed. Your support plays a vital role in helping our club continue to thrive.

A big thankyou to our dedicated volunteers, your commitment to contributing, even in small ways, is what strengthens our club and ensures we can continue offering a welcoming, vibrant place for everyone to enjoy.

​Big things are still happening! We’re looking forward to using the new lighting on the hardcourts, the Book-a-Court system, and sitting on our brand-new aggregate deck next season.

​As we look ahead, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together this year and excited for what’s still to come. Our club is strong because of the people in it, your commitment, your generosity, and your love of the game. Thank you for making this season one to remember, and I look forward to seeing our club continue to thrive in the coming years.

🏆 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥𝙨🏆
Our Singles Championships delivered a spectacular finale to the season. Despite sweltering heat and stifling humidity, the players showcased incredible resilience, pushing match after match into intense three-set battles and nail-biting tiebreakers. The competition even extended into Sunday.

Despite the conditions the players showcased quality tennis and a competitive spirit, keeping the spectators on the edge of their seats.

Congratulations to all the players and winners:
𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻: Reigning champ Natalie Harrison defeated Mel Whittle 7-5, 6-4.
𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻: Euan Tuia defeated Josh Emmott in a nail biting match that went to a super tiebreak and finished just as the sun set. 2-6, 7-5, 7-6. (10-8).
𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲: Lisa Glover defeated Julie Davey 6-4, 6-0.
𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲: Wayne Manolini defeated Jamie Piotrowski in a cracking match that went to a third set 6-1, 5-7, 6-2.

🏆𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 🏆
​It was an absolute scorcher of a weekend for tennis, so an early start was essential to beat the peak afternoon heat and humidity.
​
Play kicked off at 9am to make the most of the cooler morning air. Their were 14 pairs across the women’s and men’s draws, all vying for the title.

The heat didn't slow down the competitive spirit, with many matches pushed into three-sets, proving that endurance was just as important as skill on the court.

​A huge shoutout to all the players who stayed hydrated and kept the intensity high despite the rising mercury. After a grueling day in the sun, that first cold drink at the finish line was well-deserved.

The Brookhampton Hall was once again buzzing for our annual Tennis Club Quiz Night. This year’s "Aussie Icons and Legends" theme brought out a fantastic array of creativity, with guests dressed as The Wiggles, Norman Gunston look alikes and even Dame Edna Everage attended.

We are incredibly grateful to our iconic quiz masters Chris Cain and Woody Woodhouse for their dedication, effort and well crafted questions.

A sincere thank you to the individuals and businesses who generously provided prizes and auction items. Especially the Donnybrook Mens Shed who donated a beautiful serving board and wooden jewellery box. Your support is vital to the club’s fundraising efforts.

​It was a wonderful evening of community spirit and friendly competition. Thank you to all the Tennis club volunteers who assisted in setting up this event and to everyone who attended and supported the club.
