Bit of a late Christmas present for myself since we can’t fish for Dhufish anymore I had to build a new whiting rod as I lost my last one over the back of the boat. So I went all out with a CTS 2-5kg blank in a teal colour matched with a Fuji titanium TCH Spinning Reel Seat, carbon fibre/ cork-Eva grips and Fuji K guides. I finished it off in white and teal colour thread to keep it simple and clean. It’s going to be paired up with a Shimano Stradic 2500. It’s turn out to be a very expensive whiting rod but I can’t wait to test it out

Finished this one last time I was home. 3 piece beach rod, I extended it 2ft to make it 12ft and get the action how I wanted it. The rear grip I used cork tape and wrapped it in heat shrink with Paula shell G Ushuri and Eva fore grip , matched with Alps components.

If your going to spend $1000 on a game rod make sure your getting what you pay for these Winn grips on shimano tiagra game rods fall apart after the first or second trip. This is the 3rd one I've fixed in the last few months and seems to be a common problem. They should have a leather grip instead of trying to cut costs on cheaper components.
