To past and present members

As some of you may well know the DoubleD Longboard Club has been struggling with memberships for the past three years. At a recent meeting it was agreed to close down the club. This is definitely a sad time for me and I'm sure for others.

I would like to sincerely thank Mal and Karen Hockey, the founders of the club for your hard work and inspiration to get the club started. Thank you to all the sponsors and members that donated their time and money. The LBClub promoted the love of surfing and most importantly many lasting friendships were formed. I'm sure you all have wonderful memories, like our fancy dress days and Club windups.

It was agreed that every thing be donated to our local Surf Club with exception to the club trailer which will be donated to the Wildfire Youth Group, rash shirts and competition flags will be donated to the Geraldton Junior Board Riders. The club trophies and banner are stored in my shed.

I appreciate your support and cooperation with this process.

Hi DD's, due to bad weather, huge swell and strong winds forecast for this Sunday, our club day will be postponed until the following Sunday the 21st May. Meet at the surf club at 9.00am. Cheers everyone and happy Mother's day to all our surfy mums xx

Announcing the 'Inaugural' - "WaveWalkers Wondrous Wahine Wanderlust at Wedge." This Easter Sunday. A fun gathering for the lady surfers of WA. All ages, all abilities, all surf craft. Surf out the back, surf near the shore, push in the kids and just have fun enjoying the day together. See attached flyer for general info and you can call the contact number for more details on getting there, time etc. Your male surf companions are welcome, on the understanding that ALL wahine ridden waves automatically give priority to the wahine! To this end, Wavewalkers LBC will have an award for the best "Boy Burn" on the day and encourage the other clubs to come up with a fun prize too. :) Please declare your interest so we can keep you informed in the best way to suit you

Another great club day for the Double D's. We had a fun comp for the kids and adults with prizes for all, followed by a yummy sausage sizzle. It was great to see Jamie have a go in the comp on her new board and also welcome some new faces. If you haven't already can you please contact Janice to arrange payment of club fees and complete registration.

Hey DD's I know a few of you, including me, might be a bit under the weather Sunday morning .....but.....don't forget our Club Registration day!
Sunday 12th March

Meet at the Surf Club or look for the trailer and flags down the beach.
Looking for volunteers to help set up and pack up and also help El Presidente Janice getting the trailer back into the Clubhouse.
Come down and enjoy a morning surf to clear out the cobwebs!

We had a pretty successful "Try a SUP" day on Sunday. The weather was great, the surf was kind to us beginners and the sausages were sizzling. A few of us had a go SUPing while Patrick from Perth showed us all how to do it, catching some great waves. Thanks to all members who came down, it was good to see some familiar and not so familiar faces.

Our next Club day is the Club Registration and Comp day on March 12th, hope to see you there!
