Phill Zdybel:

Phill Zdybel is a highly accomplished martial artist and fitness professional dedicated to empowe

ring communities through the disciplines of taekwondo, strength and conditioning, fitness, boxing, and kickboxing. With a mission to bring these transformative practices to the rural areas of Yarriambiack and Buloke Shires, Phill is creating opportunities for individuals of all ages to enhance their physical and mental well-being. Phill’s impressive career is highlighted by numerous achievements:
• ITF Hall of Fame Inductee for his outstanding contributions as an International Ambassador in martial arts.
• Winner of multiple World Championship medals, representing Australia in sparring and power breaking events.
• National Team Head Coach for Australia at the 2018 ITF World Championships in Argentina and for the Netherlands at the 2022 ITF World Championships.

In 2023, his determination and hard work took him to the ITF World Championships in Korea, where he achieved remarkable success, earning a silver medal in sparring and a bronze medal in Tul. In Yarriambiack Shire (Warracknabeal & Woomelang) and Buloke Shire (Donald), Phill is spearheading initiatives to introduce martial arts and fitness programs designed to build confidence, foster resilience, and create a sense of community. His workshops, classes, and events are tailored to be inclusive and welcoming, ensuring everyone has the chance to grow and thrive. Phill Zdybel is not just an accomplished martial artist and coach—his life experience enables him to act as a leader, mentor, and community builder. Buloke Taekwon Do
Term Two Grading — Saturday, 20 June 2026
Buloke Taekwon Do conducted its Term Two Grading on Saturday, 20 June 2026. The candidates presented themselves with commendable discipline, and the work they have invested throughout the term was clearly evident. Despite the natural presence of nerves, each student demonstrated the required standard and performed to a level that justified their advancement. Every belt awarded was earned through consistent attendance, focused training, and a willingness to improve. It was a strong and cohesive showing from all participants, reflecting both preparation and commitment. 🥋🔥
Equally noteworthy was the contrast to the familiar excuses that often hinder progress. Time was made for training, and it was used effectively. Practice was undertaken rather than avoided, and Taekwon Do was treated as a priority rather than an optional activity. The selection of candidates permitted to test ensured that standards remained meaningful; if everyone were allowed to test, everyone would be a black belt, and the rank would lose its value. Now, twenty one months into the development of this group, the emergence of colour, confidence, and technical maturity is becoming increasingly visible. It is reasonable to expect that, in the near future, the sustained effort invested will begin to yield clear and tangible results. 💪📈
Out play if you can. Out work if you can’t. Skill helps. Work guarantees. Effort has never failed here. 🥋💥
Congratulations on your promotion 🎉

Harvey Thomas strolls in tonight, all proud with his grading form, tells me he’s been doing his homework. Meanwhile I’m thinking, “Alright mate, let’s see if that actually shows on the floor.” 😏

And then he actually has improved.
Even with Warracknabeal wiped out last Monday thanks to the King’s Birthday long weekend, he’s still lifted.

Five days is plenty for someone who’s switched on and actually putting the work in.
If he keeps that same energy through to Saturday, 🤔 he might just walk away with it 💪

🔥 Woomelang this evening — moving through the paces with grading/testing on the horizon. The air thick with focus, the rhythm steady, every step a reminder that the difference isn’t talent — it’s effort. 💪 Discipline. Consistency. Putting in the yards when others rest.
“It’s no good having all the skill in the world unless you’re prepared to outwork them.”
Quote me “If you can’t outplay them, outwork them.” 🥋
The ones who rise aren’t the ones with the cleanest kicks or flashiest patterns — they’re the ones who show up when their legs are heavy, when the day’s been long, when no one’s watching. 🌅
Skill without work is a blade left unsharpened. It might gleam under the lights, but it won’t cut when it matters. The ones who outwork, out focus, and out repeat the rest walk into grading with calm eyes and steady breath when the works done in advanced ⚔️

Congratulations to United ITF’s newest Master Justin Chin, of Thoroughbred Taekwon-Do, who’s 7th Degree testing, 8 years in the making, culminated on the weekend, in the running of the ITF Masterclass - Chon Ji to Tong Il.
There could be no more deserving appointment to Master level in our INO, with his many years of selfless work for his club and National Association, as well as his high level instruction, along with his own National Championships success and International team representation. Thank you to all seminar and testing assistants who attended on the day, many travelling from interstate, and all those who also took part on zoom from across Australia, a well as New Zealand and Malaysia. Special thanks also to Grandmaster Con Lazos and Fusion Martial Arts, who made their dojang available for us on the day.
