A new milestone reached today with Angels Brew (3yo f Harry Angel ex Velocitea) scoring a record 131st win across Australia and New Zealand by Catheryne Bruggeman and my racehorse selections in a racing season, beating our previous best mark of 130 set in the 2023-24 term.
Angels Brew made it a double on the Cambridge, NZ synthetic track and has now won two of her three starts for Pam Gerard's Ballymore Racing NZ training stable.
We bought her in tandem at the 2024 New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling sale for $55,000 and it's starting to look like she's potentially stakes class on the strength of her track record winning performance today when she stopped the clock at 54.62 for the 970m.

Our second buy at the 2026 Inglis Great Southern weanling sale was this cracking Hanseatic ex Written In Roses c**t on behalf of a private Victorian racing client for $35,000.
I rated this c**t as the equal of any in the sale on type so absolutely delighted to have landed him at such good value. Hope to see him burning up the tracks in the 2027-28 season from a leading local stable.

Our shopping spree for quality broodmare prospects for a New Zealand-based entity continued by securing Junebug (5yo m Lope de Vega ex Amerique) for $115,000 on yesterday’s Inglis Digital early June sale.
Junebug hails from a very deep and classy family originally developed and raced by the Wildenstein clan in France and now in the hands of the Wertheimer brothers.

Not a bad day at the office yesterday with three winners, two stakes-placed seconds and two thirds from our racehorse selections and I also co-bred a winner in New Zealand.
The ball started rolling with She's No Saint (2yo f Prague ex Poetic Diva), bought as a weanling, breaking her maiden at Ellerslie followed by Cavalry Man (5yo g So You Think ex Warpath) scoring his sixth career win in the opener at Eagle Farm before Farwest (5yo g Heroic Valour ex Magazine Miss) collected his third success at the Gold Coast.
Back at Eagle Farm, we went close to a stakes-race double with Steady Ready (6yo g Better Than Ready ex Our First Lady) taking his earnings passed $1.2m when a gallant second in the listed Lightning Handicap, then Oak Hill (5yo g Per Incanto ex Isstoora) narrowly beaten in the Moreton Stakes (G2) giving 2.5kg to the winner Uncommon James.
Also at Ellerslie, my co-bred Fly My Way (7yo g Sweynesse ex Fly Silca Fly) landed his sixth career win.

Our search for judicious broodmare purchases for a new breeding entity in New Zealand continued by securing the stakes-placed racemare Sentimenal Flame (5yo Kermadec ex Sentimental Star) for $80,000 on today's Magic Millions June Digital sale.
The half sister to this season's Western Australian Derby (G2) winner Sentimental Legend is one of four stakes performers produced by their dam Sentimental Star and it's also the family of other high class West Australian gallopers Galaxy Star, Perfect Jewel, Star Encounter and Star Exhibit while her fourth dam is Queensland Oaks winner Bravery, herself from an American import with deep, quality bloodlines.

We added two more wins to our seasonal tally today including a first-time winner in New Zealand when former weanling purchase Flyhalf (3yo f Flying Artie ex Play For Time) impressed and improved on four previous placings to score by three lengths on start six at Wanganui.
Flyhalf cost $55,000 at the 2023 Magic Millions National weanling sale where we secured her for Taupo supermarket proprietor Chris Grace.
The promising filly provided the 120th success by racehorses we've selected in the current 2025-26 Australasian racing season and another of our past weanling buys, the previously stakes-placed I'm Zac (4yo g Invader ex Natural Dancer), landed his fourth career victory at Tambo, Central Queensland to extend our tally to 121, just nine short of our term record with a full two months remaining.

Our search for value broodmare prospects from deep, high class families for a fledgling New Zealand stud entity continued with two purchases on the first day of the Magic Millions National Breeding stock sale at the Gold Coast today.-

1. You Are Correct (3yo f So You Think ex Perfect Truth) - $50,000. An outstanding European family nurtured by the famous Head racing family in France and progressed by another leviathan breeder Robert Sangster who raced Gildoran, Detroit and Durtal. The fourth dam Derna is the third dam of Zabeel.

2. Diplomacy (5yo m Exceed And Excel ex Voldemoro) - $32,500. Her third dam is AJC Oaks winner Circles Of Gold and it's the further family of Starspangledbanner who sired the Irish 1000/2000 Guineas double over the weekend. An old Rodmor Stud family with the fifth dam Gold Vink dam of G1 winner Bit Of A Skite and G2 victress Shahgolvin.

Tavros made it look effortless eventually under the steadier of 62.5kg in today’s Gunnedah Cup. Congratulations to co-selector Catheryne Bruggeman, trainer Craig Martin Racing Stables and all connections. And a top day at the office for Tavros’ jockey Aaron Bullock whose Cup victory was his fourth in succession on the card.
