😷 How’s ISO going for you?? A gifted punching bag was my Bench for Upper Body today. I’m loving seeing how many people are getting outside and active now, tell someone what they can’t do something and they do the opposite right!
🏋🏽 A lot of people have training equipment lying around unused and may need a few tips on how to make use of it or they are selling it$! This week I’m finding that gym gear is available, it’s a bit like the toilet paper right now, if you want it, toilet rolls and gym equipment is out there! “One person’s trash can be another one’s treasure if we just use our imagination”
🤷♀️ A few of you are struggling for motivation right now! Don't wait for the gyms to re-open, you can’t rely on external motivation or what came easy to you before to keep you going, make some new plans, set new goals, take back some control in your life, “find a way” now to adapt and create your new routine! Finding a way now is progress! “Once you learn to quit it becomes a habit”
🐝 Some of you are now busier than usual and don’t have time/energy left to think about health and fitness after working more & taking care of the family! If you are in struggle street, the lone wolf thing isn’t working for you then find a training buddy or ask for help, sometimes it’s just a small thing that needs tweaking.
🙅♂️If the stress is too much for you right now be kind to yourself, get some quality sleep, take a break, reflect and enjoy the pause! Don’t try and survive a caloric deficit, 3 days a week of a total body program with exercises taken 2-3 reps from failure should keep you good for now!, Eat your protein, limit social media, get 8-9 hours sleep, do your daily steps (do more than yesterday), read a book, get out in the sun, reach out to friend and eat well. Taking the stress off now will put your body in a best state ever for reaching your next goal when the time is right! “No training is ever wasted”
🗝 Now is great time to address muscular imbalances you may have that are causing pain with single arm/leg stuff, we all have issues. Work on the essential but underrated stuff like core and mobility, niggles, especially if you are sitting more now and not getting the usual work breaks interacting with your workmates or clients etc. Get outside for your daily dose of Vitamin D (90% of people test deficient), go for a run/bike/swim/hike/walk the dogs etc. No one wants to end up back at the gym down the track starting again from scratch.
💦 If you need an extra push a Personal Trainer/Coach will help get you inspired about training, help you embrace your barriers, correct your form, address your goals, pain, weaknesses, lifestyle habits, nutrition & mindset. Design progressive programs that you’ll want to do using equipment/stuff you have lying around, the best programs may look simple and basic’s but are likely to be the one’s that you actually do. Get excited by Results. Embrace the pain. “I regret that workout no one said ever”
📋 A Trainer that invests in their education/own coach past basic Certs will know the science on how to create stimulus for your muscles. Have advanced strategies for results even during lockdown using intensification techniques such as slow tempo, slow eccentrics, concentric pauses, pulses, isometrics, density, superset pairings, tri-sets, giant sets, pre/post exhaust, accomodating resistance, bands/chains, mechanical drop sets, profiles, strength curves, finishers, etc, etc. If words like Corrective GBC and Gironda have you scratching your head?, 🤔 then save your self time, invest in you and outsource!
💩 Beware, random workouts lacking consistency from the internet or a “friend” might have you bouncing up and down a 12 year old, have no regard for your imbalances or training history/goals, make you sore, sweaty, potentially injured, tired, hangry and ready to eat that family supply of ISO biscuits giving you "isolation insulation"! Having said that any movement that you enjoy and keep you sane right now is awesome, keep going.
