Premiers 💛💙🩵

And our Women’s Metro have done it again, 2 years in a row!

Congratulations to our Women’s Metro on their incredible 2–1 win over Southern United in today’s grand final!

It was a pretty even game from the start, but Southern came out strong and secured the first goal of the game. But do not fear, we had Madem President at the top of the D for a short corner and BOOM! She sent a beautiful hit straight into the backboard to level the game.

From there, it was an intense and even battle right up until the final moments, when Ditch placed a beautiful goal into the net to secure the win and back to back premierships!

A huge congratulations to our Metro team on an awesome game, with some incredible saves from Georgia throughout the match. What an achievement for this group, and we can’t wait to see what this team and all the players have in store for next year!

Back-to-back champions! What a way to finish the season. 💛🩵💙

Our men’s Pennant B have done it, they are grand final champions!

The men’s Pennant B took on Footscray in the grand final and, once again, Mentone scored the first goal. Footscray quickly levelled the game to make it 1–1 before an intense battle saw the boys score another two goals in quick succession.

Footscray came fighting back in the 4th quarter, converting two more goals to bring the game to 3–3 and send it into shootouts.

The boys are pros at this now and knew exactly what to do after their shootout win against Camberwell. Mentone absolutely nailed it, with all four strikers finding the back of the net, while Matty in goals came up huge and stopped many of Footscray’s attempts to score.

What an awesome season for these boys, finishing 2nd on the ladder and now walking away with gold around their necks!

Runners up 💛💙🩵

Congratulations to our Women’s Pennant A team after a HUGE season! The girls made it all the way to the Grand Final after finishing 3rd on the ladder, and what an achievement it was.

The Grand Final was an intense battle, with Mentone opening the scoring early. Waverley managed to convert in the final 10 minutes to level the game, sending it into shootouts. After a hard fought battle, Waverley came away with the win.

What a huge achievement, ladies! To make a Grand Final when our Pennant A team was fighting relegation less than five years ago is something to be incredibly proud of. What an awesome game and an even better season from the girls.

GAME DAY!

Today’s the day! Our teams are locked and loaded, and we are so excited to watch them!

Pennant A Women kick things off against Waverley at Hawthorn from 11am, followed by our Pennant B Men taking on Footscray from 1pm. Then we’ll all make our way to Waverley to get behind our Women’s Metro team as they take on Southern from 5pm.

Let’s get as many Panthers there as possible to cheer each other on and make it a day to remember! 💛💙🩵

Then it’s off to Waverley to cheer on our Women’s Metro team from 5pm in their grand final!

Weekly Wrap 💛🩵💙

We can’t believe it’s GRAND FINAL time this weekend! It feels like only yesterday we were watching our teams take on last year’s grand finals.

With our Metro and Pennant B teams going straight through to their grand finals, they didn’t want to miss a game day, so they took on a practice match on Saturday to prepare for the big one this weekend. A huge thank you to all our Panthers who volunteered their time to come out and play against them and help get them ready!

It was amazing to see our Pennant A women absolutely dominate and secure their spot in the grand final. Unfortunately Our WPL Reserves just fell just short after an epic battle against Waverley. The girls fought right until the final whistle and should be so proud of what they achieved this season. Our Women’s Masters also travelled to Greensborough last Wednesday and unfortunately missed out on their grand final spot. Another awesome season from all these teams!

We also had our Men’s Open Masters play their grand final on Monday, finishing as runners-up again after another hard-fought 0–0 game. The boys just fell short in the shootouts, but what a huge achievement after a fantastic season. Get them next year, boys!

Congratulations to Enzi Waters, who had the well-deserved opportunity to umpire the U12s grand final. It’s always so fantastic to see so many Panthers getting out there umpiring and achieving great things!

And finally, we missed this one last week, but our Mini Panthers had their U10s carnival day! How amazing to see so many of our juniors getting out there, having fun and playing hockey.

Don’t forget to get down to Hawthorn and Waverley this Saturday to support our Panthers in not one, not two, but THREE grand finals!

RUNNERS UP! 🥈

Our Open Men’s Masters battled it out last night in the 8:30pm prime-time clash at Waverley.

It was a hard-fought contest from start to finish, ending in a 0–0 draw before heading to shootouts. Unfortunately, the boys just fell short against Bayside Powerhouse Saints.

What a season it has been! Finishing 3rd on the ladder, with 8 wins and 33 goals, the boys can be incredibly proud of their season.

Thank you to all our Panther supporters who came down and cheered on the boys!

huge congratulations to our Women’s Premier League Reserves on an awesome season! 🐾

Unfortunately, the girls fell just short in yesterday’s final against Waverley, going down 2–1. But what a game it was, the girls fought right until the very end and made it so close the whole game! After Arti slotted an absolute beauty to level the game at 1–1, the girls held the scoreline until the final moments.

It’s been an awesome year for the team, with plenty of familiar faces and some new Panthers faces joining the squad. Finishing 4th on the ladder, with 10 wins and 44 goals is an incredible effort.

Huge congratulations, girls! What a season. See you next season! 💛🩵💙
