Let’s celebrate International Women’s Day together next Wednesday! 💜

It would mean a lot to have all of you on the mats for this special class. I’ve prepared a little surprise for everyone, and it will be a beautiful moment to come together, train, and celebrate the strength of the amazing women in our community.

If you usually come to the Tuesday class and would like to switch to Wednesday just for this week, that would be wonderful. The more of us there together, the more special it will be.

Born and raised in Brazil, Professor Pinho began his martial arts journey at 13 years old training Judo in Aracaju, Sergipe. He later transitioned to Jiu-Jitsu, developing his skills under highly respected masters at the former Gama Filho Academy.

With decades of experience on the mats and strong academic knowledge in physical education, Professor Pinho brings deep technical understanding, attention to detail, and valuable insights for practitioners of all levels.

This Adults All Levels Seminar will focus on refining fundamentals, improving efficiency, and elevating your overall game.

So special celebrating our little legends on the mats 🥋✨

Yesterday was grading day and we are SO proud of all the hard work, consistency and heart these kids have been showing in every class at Legacy Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Midcoast.

A huge congratulations to:

🥋🥋 Meet Our Coach – Vanessa Lima 🌺

We are proud to introduce Vanessa Lima, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach at Legacy Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Midcoast and the first female BJJ coach on the Mid North Coast of NSW.

Vanessa began her BJJ journey in 2016 and has dedicated herself to growing the sport in our region ever since. With years of training and continuous coaching development, she brings knowledge, passion and heart to every class.

She has trained with different schools and mentors, including Roots BJJ, Ultimate Fitness Centre and Professor Alex Paz. Today, she is proud to be co-owner of Legacy Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Midcoast alongside her partner Mauricio Cobra.

Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Physical Education & Sport, a Diploma in Sport Coaching (Jiu-Jitsu), and has completed training with Sling Training Brasil, combining academic knowledge with real mat experience.

She coaches children, teens and women, creating a supportive and empowering environment on the mats.

Beyond Legacy, she also works at the Great Lakes Aquatic Centre teaching aerobic strengthening, reformer Pilates and chair yoga, and is the founder of Hallidays Point Surfing Mums.

Her philosophy is simple:
Coaching is her passion. Sport is her life.

We are incredibly proud to have her leading our team. 💜🥋

LEGACY BJJ GIRLS🍀🌻– Midcoast OSS
So good to be back on the mats with you all in this first week of BJJ 💪

Tuesday and Wednesday were incredible — seeing you strong, determined, learning, improving, having fun, and truly supporting each other is everything. That energy, that connection… it fills my heart with so much love and motivation.

After 2 years training together once a week, we are so proud to now offer Legacy Girls BJJ twice a week. We are getting stronger, more confident, and more connected every single session.

You are my motivation to keep teaching and to never give up on a dream that started 10 years ago, the day I began my BJJ journey. Every class reminds me why I started.
