Now that the dust has settled after a few days of celebrations, it is only right you acknowledge the work done by many and varied people to put this event together.
At risk of missing someone out, we won’t name them individually but big thanks for the role that you played either in the lead up to the game or on the night - hugely appreciated by all at the Flatheads.
Our biggest thank you must go to coach/team psychiatrist/chief organiser in Mark “Bill” Williams.
Bill was a driving force in getting things up and running, liased and dealt with the KIFA and their president seemingly endlessly, drove the sponsorship train, dealt with playing jumper supplier, helped establish the training and match day schedule, dealt with numerous requests about player availability or lack thereof for training, put the match day program together, did all manner of promotional work re the game, attended at weekly meetings of the match committee to develop about 200 versions of what the side might look like, provided accommodation for the KIFA president on the Thursday before the game, assisted with the match day preparations, organised the wind up bbq, and so on and so forth .
And all the while gave up shifts at work when things needed to get done, put his very active social life on hold, etc etc to make sure the experience was the best it good be for everyone.
Oh, and Bill also coached the team to a win!!!
From all fellow Flatties thanks Bill.
Fellow member of the organising committee.
P.S. - I will send you my bank details discretely.
