🏆 Congratulations to Rodney Dolting on being named Tasmania’s recipient of the AFL National Community Umpiring Service Award as part of the AFL National Volunteer Awards.
Rodney has been involved in umpiring since 1999 and has made an incredible contribution to our game. Through his work at the grassroots level, his leadership, innovation and genuine commitment to supporting and developing the next generation of umpires, Rodney has had a lasting impact on umpiring and community football across Tasmania.
A well-deserved recognition for someone who continues to give so much back to the umpiring community. Congratulations, Rodney! 👏🏽🏉

🏆 NTJFA & STJFL GRAND FINAL WEEKEND 🏆

What a fantastic two weekends of junior football across the NTJFA and STJFL Grand Finals.

From first-year umpires experiencing their first Grand Final appointment to experienced officials mentoring the next generation, the weekend highlighted the strength of umpiring development in Tasmania.

A huge thank you to all field, boundary and goal umpires, coaches, observers and volunteers who helped make the NTJFA and STJFL Grand Finals possible.

🏉 VFLW DEBUTS 🏉

A huge congratulations to Beau, Nikki and Lachlan on making their VFLW umpiring debuts on 29th of August.

This is a significant milestone and a reward for the hard work, commitment and perseverance each of them has shown throughout their umpiring journeys.

Their debut is something our entire Tasmanian umpiring community can be proud of and serves as a great example of the opportunities available through the umpire pathway.

Congratulations Beau, Nikki and Lachlan. We look forward to following the next chapter of your umpiring journeys. 👏

The game runs deep. Earlier this month, these four young guns swapped their playing boots for the whistle to umpire UTAS Auskick matches — then a couple of weeks later, they faced off against each other in an elimination final. Playing the game, giving back to it, and experiencing it from both sides of the whistle. Well done boys!!

Nic 'Worm' d’Emden has truly done it all across 15 years in footy.

From his work with East Launceston Junior Football Club, where he’s President, to now being recognised as this year’s Toyota AFL Community Volunteer of the Year!

And as if that wasn’t enough, Nic is also making his umpiring debut in the Talent League this week!

An incredible contribution to footy at every level. Congratulations, Nic!

What a career. What a contribution.

The other weekend, Morris Bloom added another achievement to an already outstanding umpiring résumé, becoming the NWUA's all-time senior games record holder.

30 years. 507+ senior games. 14 senior grand finals. Hall of Fame member. Life Member.

Of course, now that he's got the record, we believe he's been breaking his own record every weekend from here on in.

Congratulations, Moris, and thank you for everything you've given to umpiring and community football. 👏

💜 100 and counting! 💜

Last month we welcomed our 100th female umpire registration for the season, a fantastic milestone for umpiring in Tasmania.

Now, we're not quite sure she'll be out there blowing the whistle this year, but what we do know is she's already soaking up the umpiring environment alongside the umpiring cohort.

Every umpire's journey starts somewhere, and we're excited to see where hers leads. Well done, Airlie!

Here's to 100 female registrations and many more inspiring young women giving umpiring a go. 👏🏉
