Established in 1947, WDHC is the only regional club with teams in every competition, a strong junior pathway, and a proud record of community and competitive success.

🚨PIE DRIVE UPDATE 🥧

We’ve been advised that there’s a change to the delivery date for our Pie Drive.

We know everyone was looking forward to getting their pies, lamingtons and sausage rolls tomorrow, but unfortunately you’ll have to wait another week! 😩🥧

The good news….there’s still time to add to your order! 🙌🏻

Orders will now remain open until 5pm TODAY, 9th September.
So if you forgot something, want to add another family pie (or three 😏 ), or haven’t ordered yet – you’ve got a little extra time!

🏆 HOCKEY NW - BEST & FAIREST 🏑

With the Grand Finals now wrapped up for our junior and Division teams, Hockey North West has announced the Association Best & Fairest results.

And we had three of our Dragons up there! 🐉

🏆 Jon Lewis took out the Division 3 Men’s Best & Fairest.

🥈Isaac McLeod was Runner-Up in the Division 3 Men’s Best & Fairest

🥈 Angus Clark finished Runner-Up in the U16 Best & Fairest count.

A couple of pretty good seasons from these guys and some well deserved recognition!

ANOTHER STATE REP DRAGON! 🐉

Congratulations to Zack King on his selection to represent Tasmania at the 2026 Hockey Australia Men’s Masters Championships in the 40’s team!

Zack and the team are heading to the Gold Coast, Queensland, for the championships from 24 September – 10 October.

Congratulations and best of luck Zack!

What a great night celebrating another season of hockey with the West Devonport Hockey Club family!

It was fantastic to see so many people from across our teams come together to share a few stories, plenty of laughs and celebrate the season. A huge thank you to everyone who came along, and to all the volunteers who helped behind the scenes to make the night happen - from setting up, cooking, serving, presenting, selling raffle tickets and everything in between!

🔥 ROUND WRAP UP — WHAT A WEEKEND! 🐉💚❤️

There was plenty happening across the Dragons this weekend, but our U16s gave us a night to remember!

🏑 DIV 3 MEN
Wednesday night saw the Div 3 Men go down 3-1 to Smithton in their semi-final. But after finishing the roster as Minor Premiers, the boys get a second chance!

They’ll face Devonport at Meercroft Park this Wednesday in the Preliminary Final, with a spot in the Grand Final on the line. 💪

🔥 U16 SEMI-FINAL — WHAT. A. GAME.
Friday night was finals hockey at its absolute best.

West got off to the perfect start, with Matilda Dawkins finding the back of the net inside the first five minutes. Burnie Baptist fought back with two goals, but the Dragons kept coming.

With just 30 seconds left on the clock, West continued to pile on the pressure and an incredible team play saw Connor Clarquin find the roof of the net to make it 2-2! 🤯

The roar from the home crowd was something else!

That sent the game to a penalty shootout.

After Baptist went 1-0 up after two rounds, Tander King calmly converted in the fourth round before Miller Jones scored in the final round.

It all came down to Sophie Hargreaves in goals.
Composed. Calm. No goal.
DRAGONS WIN! 🐉🔥

West takes the semi-final 2-2 (2-1) and books a spot in the next stage against South Burnie on Friday!

❤️💚 GNL WOMEN
The GNL Women finished their season in style with a win over third-placed City Marians.

Sam Gray opened the scoring from a penalty stroke before City Marians levelled with a PC conversion.

Then came a brilliant field goal from Sybille O’Rourke, putting the Dragons back in front and securing a fantastic way to finish the season!

2-2 winners! A great result against a top-three side to close out the year. 👏

A massive congratulations to all our teams, players, coaches and supporters. And a special shout-out to our U16s — that one was a belter! 🔥

🏑 WHAT A WEEKEND FOR THE DRAGONS! 💚❤️🐉

There was plenty to celebrate across the club, with some huge wins and some great individual moments!

🔥 DIV 3 MEN
A massive 7-1 win over City Marians on Wednesday, including four goals from Jon Lewis! The men have secured a home semi-final against Smithton tonight. Get down to Meercroft Park and get behind them!

💪 U16s
The U16s finished their roster games with a 1-0 win over City Marians, with Matilda Dawkins scoring the winner! They’ve earned themselves a home semi-final against Burnie Baptist this Friday.

💚❤️ SATURDAY WAS A BIG ONE!

Our GNL Women came away with a 2-1 win over Tamar, and have another roster game to come this weekend.

Our GNL Men finished their season with a 3-1 win over Tamar Churinga. With a bye in the final roster round, the boys can now relax and enjoy cheering on the other teams!

And then there was Flynn Wright. 🥹🏑

Usually playing his hockey in our U13 and U16 teams, 10-year-old Flynn stepped up for his first-ever senior game with our Division 2 Men - and somehow made it even more memorable by scoring a goal on debut!

The noise from the crowd when that ball hit the backboard is still ringing in our ears! 👏🔥😱

What a moment for Flynn, and what a great example of what we love about our club - giving our young players the opportunity to step up, learn and play alongside our senior teams.

Our Division 2 Women unfortunately went down 6-0 to Smithton and narrowly missed out on finals. It wasn’t the result they wanted, but they’ve worked hard all season and should be extremely proud of what they’ve achieved.

A huge congratulations to all our teams and players on a fantastic weekend! 💚❤️
