Holding a current First Aid certificate is something I value deeply as an instructor, it’s part of creating a space where people feel supported, safe and genuinely cared for.

We guide bodies every day and while we focus on movement, there’s also a responsibility to be prepared for the unexpected. Having up to date training simply means you can respond with confidence if needed and that really matters.

I’ve recently completed my training through Jade at in a private one to one session and it was such a positive experience. It felt personalised, thorough and really empowering, something I believe every instructor should invest in.

As a client, it’s also okay to ask your instructor if they hold a current First Aid certificate. It’s not about questioning them, it’s about understanding the level of care in the space you’re stepping into.

For me, it all comes back to intention. Creating an environment where you feel looked after, not just through movement but beyond it too.

Motherhood beside me, not separate from me with business growing in the middle of it all.

The Daily Form was never meant to fit into a box, it’s built in real time with real life happening all around it.

A vision that keeps expanding while little eyes are right there watching it all unfold, with no waiting for the perfect moment just building it right here in the middle of it all.

Before the first client walks in, there’s a quiet moment to myself. Coffee in hand, lights on and the reformer ready.

It’s in these small, calm moments that I review the sessions for the day, think about adjustments and prepare the studio to feel welcoming, clean and ready.

Running a private studio is a lot of work behind the scenes, but these moments are what make the studio feel intentional, personal and ready for each individual.

Slow movement is harder than it looks.

When you move slowly, you can’t rely on momentum to carry you through. Every muscle has to work, every joint has to be stable and every part of the body has to communicate.

Pilates isn’t about doing more, faster or harder. It’s about control, awareness and intentional movement. Slowing down teaches your body how to engage properly and helps you build strength that lasts.

The studio is quiet before the first client arrives. The reformer is set up, springs are adjusted and the space feels calm and still.

Private Pilates sessions are all about attention to detail. Every movement, every adjustment and every session is for the person in front of me. No two sessions are exactly the same, because no two bodies are the same.

These quiet moments in the studio are one of my favourites, it’s slow, intentional and completely focused on helping someone move better and feel more confident within themselves.

Early mornings have a quiet kind of magic to them. The world is slower, the streets are calm and there’s something special about starting the day before the sun is fully up. It’s a fresh start, a reset and a moment before the day gets busy.

Then the coffee is made, the studio lights turn on and the reformer is ready for the first session of the day.

Because this job isn’t about big classes or busy rooms. It’s about one person at a time. One session, one conversation, one goal, one small improvement after another. It’s about really knowing the person in front of you; how they move, what they need, what they’re working towards and being part of that journey with them.

The early mornings become less about the time on the clock and more about the people who walk through the door. The ones who show up consistently, who trust the process, who put in the work and who slowly change not just how they move, but how they feel.

And suddenly, the early morning becomes the best part of the day.

It feels like purpose.
It feels like routine.
It feels like building something special, one session at a time.

Early mornings start with a cup of coffee but they’re really powered by incredible people.

Your clients may not remember what spring setting they used and they probably won’t recall the exact sequence, or the name of every exercise.

But they will remember the small things
🤍 They’ll remember being walked to their car when it was dark.
🤍 They’ll remember the way the studio smelled when they stepped inside; clean, calm and intentional.
🤍 They’ll remember how the space made them feel the moment they entered, before a single cue was even given.
🤍 They’ll remember whether the environment felt like somewhere they belonged.

These details don’t show up in your programming notes, but they live in the nervous system. They shape trust, loyalty and connection far more deeply than perfect spring choices ever could.

Being a great instructor isn’t just about what you teach on the Reformer or the Mat, it’s about how you care for people before and after the movement.

The tone of your voice.
The way you hold the room.
The energy you create.

This is what clients carry with them.
This is what brings them back.

People may forget the mechanics but they never forget how you made them feel.
