This time Phoenix's turn for some flags and desensitising and more basic handling for Stormy before she leaves for her new home tomorrow.
I find it so helpful to have a second person with horse skills around from time to time, especially at this time of year when I'm concentrating on the cattle and the horses get a little bit forgotten.
The youngstock also get to meet and be handled by someone who isn't always me & I think that is really valuable too.

It was hair day for half the stud today. I've no idea how a minimalist like myself got tangled up with Friesians and I can't deny that I fantasize about clippers through a good portion of my detangling protocol, but they come up good in the end and they do look pretty running around with their manes floating in the breeze.

Another two of our special horses have found lovely homes...yearling Stormy will be heading to Melbourne and her mother Avalon, who is also the mother of our retained young buckskin stallion Phoenix will be making her way to WA after being served in spring.
This just about concludes our downsizing sale. We only have 1 horse still available and then it will be a few years before we produce anything that might be for sale.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us and I can't wait to see our babies kicking goals for their new owners...that's the sweet part of the bitter-sweet feeling of having to say goodbye to them 💕

I was going to advertise Titus, our young upcoming stallion here, but just like his mother he sold immediately with a big "Next in Line" queue and he'll be heading to WA at the end of the year to his lucky new family. I know they're going to have such fun with him! In the meanwhile, he'll be heading off to the breakers and then have a much deserved spell with his best mate before his big trip!
WA peeps, keep your eyes open for this stunner hitting the show scene next year 🤩
