Well done to the Deniliquin Blue Heelers RLFC for hosting a huge turnout for their rugby league ProTen Cup home round at Rotary Park today. Thanks for having the Drovers as part of your day. Massive thanks to Graeme Dick, Peter Gow⁩, Matt Beal, Afton Smith, Benjamin Grant⁩, Paul Marshall, Pat Cleary and Nathan Holahan for their help with the BBQ (plus youngsters Henry and Vinny). Our club is enjoying supporting the Blue Heelers as they continue to grow!

Come along and support our cross-code friends Deniliquin Blue Heelers RLFC when they host Round 2 of the Proten Community Cup at Rotary Park Deniliquin this Saturday 13 June. Gates open at 11am with a full day of action planned. The Drovers will be cooking the BBQ on the day (if you’re keen to help out, please get in touch). We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Thank you to everyone who ventured out last night to support the Deniliquin Drovers Rugby Union Club and the Deniliquin Blue Heelers RLFC for their combined social gathering and women’s State of Origin event. As two small, yet passionate clubs in an Aussie Rules dominated region, we’re enjoying working collaboratively together to support each other. Special thanks to friends (old and new) of both clubs for their support, especially Donna Pisasale for hosting the yoga session, Delena Gaffney and The Gents men’s choir for their inspiring performances and The Deniliquin Club (corner George and Edwardes Streets) for hosting a diverse mix of like-minded individuals on a chilly Thursday night in Deni. Finally, huge shout out to Drovers legend Graeme Dick and Blue Heelers President Rach Jane for pulling it all off - including the delicious sushi dinner! Some of us questioned the concept initially, but the night was full of laughs and new-found camaraderie. It can only grow from here! Pictured are the poster boys for each club, Michael Pisasale and Kurt Longford. And yes, Mick is wearing the tightest yoga pants in the southern hemisphere.

What a night! Thank you to everyone who attended the club’s 40 year celebrations - especially those who travelled long distances. It was a truly special occasion with faces representing all four decades. There were lots of laughs as former players and supporters recalled many memorable stories from over the years. Safe travels everyone and we can’t wait to welcome you all again for our 50th anniversary!
