Your body wasn’t designed to sit for 8+ hours..
Here’s what you CAN do to protect your body — especially your back and posture 👇
*Stand up every 30 minutes
Even a 1–2 minute walk or stretch helps reduce stiffness and tension. Australian workplace guidelines recommend breaking up long periods of sitting as often as possible.
*Move more during the day
Take the stairs, walk while on calls, stretch between tasks, park further away — small movement adds up.
*Strengthen your core and glutes
Weak muscles = more pressure on your lower back. Strength training helps support posture and reduce aches.
*Set up your desk properly
Screen at eye level. Feet flat on the floor. Shoulders relaxed. Don’t let your body collapse into the chair.
*Don’t stay in the same position all day
Even “perfect posture” becomes bad posture if you never move.
*Walk or exercise daily
Australian guidelines recommend adults stay active most days and reduce prolonged sitting. you can find more information on this https://www.safeworkaustralia.gov.au/safety-topic/hazards/sitting-and-standing Movement is medicine!
