Ever look at your progress and think you’re getting nowhere?
Meanwhile the numbers are screaming the opposite.
Tamika came into coaching wanting to lose body fat before her wedding.
Over the last four months she’s:
• Lost 5kg
• Taken 10cm off her waist
• Taken 8cm off her hips
• Taken 5cm off her arms
• Increased her strength
• Kept the weight off
Most people would look at that and call it a win.
Tamika still worried she wasn’t doing enough.
That’s not because she lacks discipline.
It’s because she’s driven.
A lot of driven people struggle to see their own progress.
They’re so focused on where they want to go that they ignore how far they’ve come.
One thing I tell clients all the time:
Track the facts.
Not just the feelings.
Feelings change day to day.
The data tells the story.
The goal isn’t perfection.
The goal is moving forward.

You’ve been doing amazing
If you’re putting in the work but struggling to see the progress you’re making, DM PROGRESS.

You’ve learned how to brace. You take a big breath, try to engage your core 360 degrees, and still feel like nothing happens.
That is not always a technique issue. Sometimes, it is a tissue issue.
When I teach clients to brace properly, a lot of them can push their stomach forward, but they cannot engage effectively through their sides or lower back. That is usually where the problem shows up.
The QL and obliques can become completely locked down from heavy lifting, sitting, poor breathing mechanics, or constantly living in extension. When that tissue gets restricted, it can feel like a straightjacket around your midsection.
Your QL connects your pelvis to your lowest rib. If it is tight and glued down, your lower back cannot expand properly when you breathe and brace.
And if you cannot create proper intra-abdominal pressure, your lower back usually ends up taking the hit when you squat, deadlift, or load heavy.
This is why in a massage session, we are not just treating the QL to reduce pain. We are treating it to restore function. That includes helping the abdominals, obliques, ribs, and lower back work together again.
Release the tissue so you can breathe deeper, brace harder, and protect your spine under load.
If you feel like you cannot get air into your lower back before a heavy lift, your mechanics may be restricted.
Treat the tissue. Fix the brace.
Do you struggle to feel your lower back expand when you brace?

If you’re new here or you've been following for a while and don't know the full story, here it is.
I grew up moving constantly. 9 primary schools. Commission housing. Sleeping on fold-out camping beds. A single mum doing her best. I didn't know who my father was until a week before my son was born.
I didn't have a blueprint. I had a choice… let it define me, or use it as fuel.
I chose fuel.
I found the gym at 16 and started training with real intent at 21. Since then I've competed in bodybuilding, played American football, run Tough Mudders, Spartans, trail runs, a half marathon and now I'm working toward powerlifting.
In 2018, I started DVS. Not because it was the safe move because it was the right one.
I work with serious gym-goers and athletes who want to perform better, move without restriction, and build a body that holds up to the demands they put on it.
Remedial Massage — in person, Ballarat.
Online Coaching.
This is what I do. This is why I do it.
If you want to work together, DM me or hit the link in my bio.

You’ll mostly see me post mostly my main lifts on here.
Squats. Presses. Deadlift variations.

But those lifts don’t get better on their own.
They only move because of the work that comes after.

Accessories are where the gaps get filled.
They’re what build the muscle that actually moves the weight.
They let you add volume without just redlining your CNS every session.
They clean up weak positions and give your joints a reason to tolerate heavier loads later on.

This is where bodybuilding and powerlifting training start to look pretty similar.

Bodybuilding uses accessories to build muscle and shape.
Powerlifting uses accessories to build the engine behind the lifts.

Different goals.
Same tools.

The difference is how they’re used.
Powerlifting accessories are chosen to carry over to a specific lift.
Bodybuilding accessories are chosen to keep tension on a muscle for longer.

But both still rely on:
Progressing load or reps
Actually controlling the weight
Enough volume to create change

If your squat, press or deadlift hasn’t moved in a while, it’s rarely because you’re “not trying hard enough” on the main lifts.
More often, the supporting work just isn’t being progressed properly.

The big lifts are what you test.
Accessories are what make the test better next block.

You think it's just a massage. It's not.
If your idea of massage involves fluffy robes and whale sounds, we need to talk.
Remedial Massage isn't a spa day. It's a systematic assessment and treatment for people who actually use their bodies—athletes, lifters, and anyone tired of being held back by pain and stiffness.
It's about using the right tool for the job. We don't just rub things.
We use Deep Tissue & Myofascial Release to apply sustained pressure, breaking down the adhesions ("knots") that are restricting your movement and causing you pain.
We use Trigger Point Therapy to hunt down those specific, nasty spots that refer pain elsewhere, deactivating them to break the pain cycle.
We use PNF & MET Stretching, where you work with me, contracting and relaxing muscles to trick your nervous system into unlocking new ranges of motion safely and effectively.
This isn't about temporary relief. It's about creating lasting change so you can get back to training, performing, and living without your body constantly screaming at you.
Stop asking for a massage. Start asking for a solution.
What's the one ni**le you've been ignoring? Let me know in the comments below.

If you're tired of feeling broken, DM me the word "RESET". Let's talk about what's really going on.

That feeling when you stand up and your body just feels… stuck.
Your lower back is a block of concrete. Your shoulders feel glued to your ears. You train hard, you push yourself, but you spend the rest of the day feeling beat up, stiff, and old before your time.
You've been told this is just the price of admission for training hard. That if you want to be strong, you have to accept being in a constant state of feeling broken.
That's bu****it.
There's a massive difference between the satisfying ache of a good training session and the grinding, restrictive pain of dysfunction. One is a signal of growth. The other is a signal that your body is losing the battle against accumulated stress, poor movement patterns, and unresolved tissue issues.
This is where remedial work comes in. It's not about fluff. It's about systematically going into that overworked tissue, breaking up the adhesions, and restoring function. It's about figuring out why your back feels like concrete and doing something targeted to change it.
Stop accepting feeling "beat up" as your new normal. It's not.
I know the objection: "But isn't soreness just part of the game?" Yes, muscle soreness (DOMS) is. But that nagging, referral pain, the stiffness that limits your range, and the feeling that you're one wrong move away from a flare-up? That's your body telling you it needs more than just another foam rolling session.
Don't just train hard. Recover smart.
Stop confusing the price of progress with the cost of dysfunction.

If you're tired of feeling broken, DM me the word "RESET". Let's talk about what's really going on.

Pain is rarely the enemy.Misunderstanding it is.
Most ongoing issues persist because the signal keeps getting ignored or misread.
Patterns matter more than panic.

This isn’t for everyone, and that’s intentional.

This isn’t for you if:
• You want a quick fix and disappear
• You want a rub and hope the pain goes away
• You don’t train consistently
• You want motivation instead of structure
• You expect results without adjusting habits
• You’re looking for relaxation, not performance
• You want a generic plan and minimal involvement

This is for you if:
• You train hard and want to keep doing it
• Pain keeps interrupting progress
• You want to understand your body, not guess
• You value consistency over shortcuts
• You want problems caught early, not after they flare
• You see recovery as part of performance

This work is built for Gym goers who care about outcomes.

Save this if it sounds like you.
Scroll on if it doesn’t.
No pressure either way.
