👏CONGRATULATIONS PETER CASEY!👏
The NSW Community Sports Awards, recognise outstanding achievements and contributions to community sport in NSW – largely carried out by a volunteer workforce. In 2026, Manly Touch’s own Peter Casey, has been awarded the Distinguished Long Service Honour.
Peter Casey’s contribution to MWTA spans more than five decades of selfless and distinguished service. As a founding member of MWTA, Peter participated in our inaugural competition in 1974 and has played ever since - his dedication has never wavered. Over that time, he has held virtually every position on both the Executive and Management Committees, bringing experience and institutional knowledge to the association through every stage of its growth. For decades, Peter served as Competition Manager, ensuring our local Seniors competition ran with the organisation and integrity that players, coaches, and officials could rely on week after week. His contribution as a participant has been equally remarkable — representing Manly at State and Regional level as both a player and coach.
Beyond his own performance, Peter has invested deeply in the people around him, mentoring coaches and referees across generations and helping to build the culture of knowledge-sharing that defines our association today. Even now, Peter continues to show up — managing grounds and stepping in as a referee across our junior and senior competitions.
Manly Warringah Touch Association would not be what it is today without Peter Casey. Congratulations on this prestigous and well deserved honour!🦅
