As we continue to shine a light on Men's Health Week and Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, we're encouraging men to make their health a priority.

Bowel cancer is one of Australia's most common cancers. The encouraging news? When detected early, it's also one of the most treatable.

If you're aged 45–74, you may be eligible to receive a free home screening kit every two years through the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program.

Hearty easy winter fuel

Looking for a warm, filling packed with goodness meal?

A hearty vegetable soup is an easy winter favourite.

🥕 Carrot
🧅 Onion
🥬 Greens
🫘 Lentils
🧄 Garlic
🥣 Salt-reduced stock

Simple Method:

1️⃣ Chop your vegetables and add to a pot with the lentils and stock.
2️⃣ Simmer until the vegetables are soft and the lentils are tender.

This June, the Springs Health and Fitness team are taking part in the Cancer Council’s 50km Dog Walk for Cancer Challenge and we’d love you (and your four-legged walking buddy) to join us.

Every walk helps support by raising funds for cancer research, prevention programs and support services for Australians impacted by cancer.

Food Allergy Week - 25-31 May 2026

Knowledge matters, especially in shared community spaces like gyms, schools, cafés and sporting clubs.

This week is a reminder that food allergies are serious and awareness can help keep others safe.

Australia has one of the highest rates of food allergies in the world, with almost 2 million Australians living with a food allergy.

"Recognise the signs. Be ready to react" with Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia.

➡ Swipe to see signs of an allergic reaction, including:
> Swelling of the lips, face or eyes
> Swelling or tingling of the tongue or mouth
> Hives or welts
> Difficulty breathing
> Swelling or tightness in throat
> Dizziness or collapse
> Persistent cough or wheeze

From shared snacks, protein shake, lunchbox or post-workout treat, being mindful of food allergies and recognising the signs can make a real difference.
