What a great way to start our 2026 dance season last night at OPA!!. 👌
Welcome back to OPA everyone!
So many NEW faces!! We hope your time with us is a memorable one!

Our groups were bursting at the seams last night. Providing the numbers remain the same, we will NO longer be accepting anymore new enrolments after next week’s lesson.
In the coming weeks we will be making changes that best suits the growth and development of all groups & student/s. Remember no change is final.

ONLY - 4 weeks to go!!
Tickets to OPA’s Darwin APOKRIATIKO / CARNIVALE Party (Fancy-Dress) on Saturday 28th February are now available. We urge everyone attending to come dressed in costume.
There are still many who have not yet collected your held tickets, we urge you to please collect at our next lesson.

Also, OUR Senior group at OPA represented the GREEK 🇬🇷 Community of Darwin at the Australia Day NT festivities that was held at Darwin’s Netball Stadium on the 26th January.
Thank you to the Multicultural Council of the Northern Territory for the invite!

Thank you to all our students & parents who again volunteered their time. You ALL looked great 👌 !!!!
This was our first performance of many more to come for ALL our groups in 2026.

Our CLASSES at OPA Dance Darwin ARE COMPLETELY FULL FOR 2025!! WoW 😮 We want to thank you for your support and loyalty!

Due to a HUGE influx of new students all our classes are now completely FULL (and a lot of last year’s students were missing tonight). We will now not be accepting anymore new students at our dance school. We would like to welcome you all to Opa and once again thank you for trusting us with our greatest asset, your child! 🙏

We urge all of last year’s students
& those new parents who have advised us that they want to join OPA for 2025 to come next week and start attending all classes regularly.

We want to provide the best possible lessons to all our students and we’ll be making constant changes to students list in each of our groups in the next coming weeks. These changes will be made to ‘best’ suit the actual student’s and group’s development.
Please trust our judgement and remember no change is final.

Just a friendly reminder that school fees should be paid the first two weeks of each term. If you are experiencing any financial difficulties please communicate with us so we can come to a resolution.

Please note, that anyone can dance with whichever dance group they choose, but our rule at Opa is as follows;
If you choose to dance at OPA you cannot dance with another outside group! Unfortunately you will need to choose.

2025 OPA TRAINING TOPS

Our 2025 OPA Training tops will be ordered soon. If there is anyone who wishes to become a SPONSOR and have their business name on our Opa 2025 Training Tops please see either Gella or myself ASAP. A lot of the extras that our students get, would not be possible without the generous support from our sponsors and we thank them for this.

2025 APOKRIATIKO “ FANCY DRESS “ PARTY

Tickets to our upcoming Apokriatiko Party on Saturday 22nd February @ Cyprian Hall (7pm-late) are now available. All groups will perform on the night. We will have Dj & Live entertainment & lots of surprises & best costume prizes.
We encourage everyone to attend in “ costume “. Please contact us to secure your tickets.
This will sell out. No tickets will be sold at the door.

ADULT CLASSES
Adult classes will be commencing on Tuesday 18th February at 6.30pm @ the Greek school hall. $10 per lesson.
We cater for ALL ages and levels and classes are fun!
If you want to learn to Greek dance, learn new dances or techniques, getting married or just for some exercise, then we hope to see you there!
Remember if you can walk…. You can Dance!

Cyprus Community’s 2024 Food & Wine Festival - Entertainment Program is now out!

We ask all our OPA Dance Darwin students dancing to please be there dressed in uniform (see photo below), 30 minutes prior to your group’s performance time.

It’s Darwin GleNTi week and OPA Dance Darwin are proud to be a part of this event again.
Our groups will performing twice 7.15pm & 9.15pm (halftime of both games) at Greek Derby on Tuesday evening between Hellenic & Olympic at 2024 GLENTI CUP

Rehearsals are also in full swing! Any student who has not yet received their 2024 Opa Top please make sure you collect on Thursday! See Gella!!!

As advised earlier all 3 of our younger groups will be split into two groups for this year’s GleNTi Festival. Those that dance on Saturday AM will dance Sunday PM & visa-versa.

Hi everyone
A big thank you to everyone who helped with the dance classes @ OPA Dance Darwin yesterday while Gella & I were away. 🙏

The response for new student enrolments have been overwhelming and as a result we are completely full. We now ask that everyone starts attending every week or else you will lose your spot.
There will be slight group changes for the next few weeks, so please be patient and trust us with the process. No change is final and every change is made to benefit both the student and group.
For those who have missed out we apologise but please note we will be accepting new enrolments at the start of Term 3 (after GleNTi Greek Festival) or at the beginning of 2025, hope to see you then.

A MASSIVE thank you to all our students, parents & grandparents who once again came in strong numbers to support our group OPA Dance Darwin
at the Kalymnian Brotherhood Darwin Greek Festival/Taverna Night on Saturday night.
All our groups were just brilliant, well done to all 👍, we are super proud of you all.
Also well done also to the Kalymnian & Cretan Association of Northern Territory dance groups too 👏

Congratulations also to all involved at
Kalymniko committee for putting on this event today. We need more events like these where we can all celebrate everything Greek 🇬🇷.

A big thank to everyone who helped at our Opa AGORA store (Market Stall) - many hands makes light work & thanks to everyone who came and supported us. All money raised always goes back to our students.

We still have a FULL program ahead! As was very evident tonight our numbers are healthy (even though lots were missing) & our future at Opa is strong. Classes will continue as normal for all our groups this Thursday and yes we are now still accepting new students, however we have limited spaces available, so get in quick!

We still have tickets available for our upcoming fundraiser My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 - Darwin’s OPENING NIGHT Screening - Thursday 7th September @ 6.30pm, Gateway V-Max Cinemas.
