The Darwin Cricket Club

The Darwin Cricket Club I was standing on a corner... The Darwin Cricket Club, known as the Eagles, is an amateur to semi-professional cricket club based in Darwin, NT.

Located at the picturesque Kahlin Oval in the inner city suburb of Larrakeyah which is a five minute walk from the C*D. The Club has a strong history and fine tradition of producing premier cricketers to the Darwin & District Cricket Competition and NT Representative duties while also attracting first class players to the Club during the winter. We cater for all levels of cricket, from beginners with Woolworths Blast Cricket held on a Friday evenings, juniors teams from U11's through to U17's and senior men's teams in all five grades. Premier grade to C grade is played on Saturday, and D & E grade play on Sundays. The season begins in early April and runs to mid September. Training start times:
Preseason usually begins in mid Feb to early March (training times announced via posts). Season: 5pm to 7pm on a Tuesday and Thursday for Seniors. Junior training times are confirmed closer to the season start date. The Eagles are also strong socially, with at least three functions held during the regular season, a favourite being the annual Quiz Night held in front of the Pavilion, and the ever so popular Cocktail night.

Vale Peter Dickman

Darwin Cricket Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Peter Dickman.

Peter was an icon around our club and a significant contributor to our junior program for well over a decade. His impact will be remembered by generations of young players he coached, encouraged and helped develop along the way.

For our older members, Peter will also be remembered as a fierce competitor on the field, but always a mate off it. He was a genuine club person who gave an enormous amount of his time and energy to Darwin Cricket Club and the people within it.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Peter’s wife Rachel, his children Jacob and Romee, and the wider Dickman family.

A service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held at St Mary’s Cathedral on Friday, 4 September at 3.00pm.

Peter leaves a lasting mark on our club and will be greatly missed.

Rest in peace, Dicko.
