The 2027 Australian Polocrosse Nationals – Darwin might’ve been pushed from June 2026, but that just means more time to get ready, prep hard, save up and gear up for the time of your life.

The NT Polocrosse Championships are here, the final and biggest carnival of the year!
Even though Darwin wasnt able to host the Australian Nationals this year, there is still plenty of exciting polocrosse action to enjoy right here at home. Join us at Freds Pass this weekend as the five NT clubs battle it out for the prestigious title of Turf NT Champions.

With fast horses, skilled riders, fierce rivalries and plenty of club pride on the line, it's shaping up to be a fantastic weekend of competition.

Bring the family, find a spot under the shady trees on the beautiful green grass, and enjoy a great weekend of equine sport. The bar and canteen will be operating all weekend, so leave the esky and lunch at home and let us do the hard work for you. Whether you're a long-time polocrosse supporter or have never seen a game before, this is the perfect opportunity to experience one of Australia's most exciting equestrian sports.

📅 Saturday: Games commence from 9:00am
📅 Sunday: Games commence from 8:00am
🏆 Championship Finals: Expected to commence from 2:00pm Sunday

Come along and help us celebrate the end of another successful NT polocrosse season before attention turns to an exciting future, including the 2027 Australian Polocrosse Nationals, which will be hosted in Darwin from 21-27 June 2027.

Nationals might have been postponed, but that just means we've got a delayed departure! ✈️🍹

The NT Polocrosse Association is holding the Territory Classic carnival this weekend so if you’ve kept your travel plans to Darwin join us tomorrow night. We're swapping the saddles for leis and bringing the island vibes as we celebrate Hawaiian style! 🌺🌺

🎶 Good tunes, great company, and plenty of laughs
🍽️ Dinner from 6:30pm

With our sights firmly set on 2027, we are very happy to officially announce the competition dates for the 2027 Australian Polocrosse Nationals will be, Monday 21 to Sunday 27 June 2027.

We’d like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding following the postponement of the 2026 Australian Polocrosse Nationals in Darwin to 2027.

We are currently working closely with Polocrosse Australia to confirm new dates for 2027, and we’ll share updates as soon as they become available.

Ticket holders or those who have purchase merchandise, please check your emails for options regarding refunds or continuation of purchase to 2027.

In the meantime, Polocrosse in the NT is still very much going ahead! The local NT calendar is now out, and we’d love to welcome anyone still planning to head north for the dry season to come along and enjoy some great polocrosse, Territory hospitality, and all that the Top End has to offer.

Over the past few weeks, we have been doing a lot of listening, talking, and number crunching to understand whether we could confidently deliver the Australian Polocrosse Nationals this year.

This has included a national competitor survey, discussions with all States, and ongoing communications with key stakeholders.

After taking everything into account, the Northern Territory Polocrosse Association and Polocrosse Australia have made the difficult decision to postpone the Nationals
to June 2027.

We know this is disappointing news. There has been a huge amount of effort already put in by players, families, sponsors, volunteers and supporters, and we do not take that lightly.

But the reality is, the current environment is making things really tough. The sudden rise and uncertainty of fuel costs, concerns around fuel availability and long-distance travel with horses, combined with the indication of reduced participation all point to one thing: we would not be able to deliver the kind of Nationals that everyone expects and deserves.

Postponing gives us the best chance to do this properly. It means we can protect the
quality of the competition, look after our people and horses, and make sure the event is strong, well supported and something we can all be proud of.
