As a Personal Trainer and Sport & Exercise Scientist I have been coaching people from all walks of life for over two decades. It ranges from the members of our state Rugby team to my oldest regular who is now 94! In the last few years, I found out that I am addicted to progress. Using fun, passion and knowledge to unlock people’s own unused potential really gives me a buzz. There is no better rewa

I am passionate about functional training, which optimises your body so it can work in the best possible way. Therefore, I created some specific packages for gym starters, rehabilitation, general fitness, healthy ageing and sport-specific strength & conditioning. Regardless of your motives to hit the gym - training will shape your body, make you stronger, create a sense of achievement, and happens to be healthy as well. No body and no mind work the same; that’s why exercising with a professional trainer is hard to beat when going for goals. Let’s get to know each other and see where we can take it together!

Okay, okay, here is the short version of top 4 recommendations, also verified by my personal weight loss expert Finn. (You might remember her from my previous posts before and after losing nearly 70kg unassisted)

1. Keep a food diary and put in EVERYTHING, absolutely everything, that you swallowed. Calculate the calories and you might be very surprised what it adds up to.
2. Shop for a healthy and WELL BALANCED diet that you like
3. Set yourself a limit of 1500 or less calories per day
4. STICK TO IT for as long as it takes to get to the body weight you aim for.

Did you know that every time you diet, loosing weight becomes harder and harder?

Normally we benefit from the capacity of our bodies to adapt to all sort of challenges. Unfortunately loosing weight is a very new problem that appeared only in the last 40 years, before that prolonged periods of starvation caused a much bigger threat.

That is why every time we reduce out food intake, our body goes into starvation mode. It stores as much energy as it can and burns as little as possible. With every diet it becomes better at it, which makes loosing a few pounds harder and harder.

Here is another super significant milestone this year: Janine's first ever training on her own in the gym.

We started in November to make some important lifestyle changes and battle a multitude of medical issues. Now she is confident enough to training on her own as well.

This is truly inspirational!

After a consultation with a specialised physiotherapist, Finn and I found out, that according to newest research, boxing is a highly recommended movement for people with Parkinson's disease like Finn.

Ever since the gloves are on! That is of course in addition to Finn''s normal strength, flexibility and balance training.

If you are training in the city, I'm sure you have seen her racing around in her red scooter or even got a pinch of her wicket humor. Have a chat next time and be amazed by her million stories!
