Wow, what an amazing year 2024 has been. We had some of low points and some extremely high points but have learnt even more in the world of Motorsport. We have been fortunate to travel to some amazing race tracks, we’ve caught up with old friends and made new and life long ones as well.
The year started with the supports at the Bathurst 12hr, which was an amazing experience even though it came to an abrupt halt for the 64 car at the chase. Probably the wrong call but managed to get the car home and swap the engine into the new build, put a lot of people under pressure to get it back for the Improved Production Bathurst Cup as supports for the Bathurst 6hr 3 weeks later!
History making event for Sue with a first place in class and 10th outright at the 6hr race! First female team to win at Bathurst….ever! So proud of Sue’s achievement and success.
Back home to WA for some Production racing for Sue with the A45. Great driving at Collie Motorplex in the wet chasing down an Improved Production car and just missed first place. Great battle with Steven Turpin again in the wet a few weeks later and managed to win the race and eventually go on to win the inaugural Powerhouse Cup.
In July we trekked to Darwin for the Improved Production Nationals with a mixed bag of results with overheating and competitor “interaction” for Sue and 7th overall for the new 64 car.
A couple of Improved Production / Production car races to finish the year off and as they “that’s all she wrote”.
In amongst all the racing we were also fortunate to be spectators (Brent Peters and Damien Croxon surprise was incredible), Winton…..well sort of 😜 and finally the Bathurst International in November.
All of which was made possible with the amazing support from Mark Taylor, Chris Bush, Jeff Thomas ,Steve Thømas, Anna Farrell, Sophie Amato and everyone that looked after home whilst we were away. A big thanks to Garry Edwards for his support, guidance and a great traveling companion…..it is greatly appreciated.
Last but not least to all the volunteers, stewards, officials and organizers, thank you for all that you do for Motorsport at local, state and national level.
We couldn’t do what we love without you….Again THANK YOU!
2025……Well the cat may be out of the bag but a huge year for Senda Racing Team…….stay tuned!
