We aren't having a really good weather this week to workout, but stay active during pregnancy is very important to me.

I am lucky to be a pilates and fitness teacher and having my own pilates equipment at home makes a massive difference.

I am not teaching at Embrace Studio - Functional Training & Pilates at the moment, but I am teaching myself and Maia how to be connected in our minds and bodies.

Hi from the Gold Coast!

As you all know, we had to stop our activities in Darwin as we now have a new place to call home. However, Embrace Studio - Functional Training & Pilates will still be on hold as Isabelle is expecting Maia, who is due in December.

In the meantime, Isabelle found a way to do a small set up and she is having some time to stay active and to be ready for Maia.

Isn't too hard to exercise in a place like that, right?!

Embrace finished its journey in Darwin with these 3 special clients. They were doing pilates with me for a while, are super committed, and always wanted more. They are legends, and we couldn't have a different ending.

Embracing the challenge, embracing the workout, embracing Pilates!

The first step for a lot of people is often just finding motivation to get off the couch and get their bodies moving. Once we’ve started the session and we start to enjoy working hard, enjoy sweating, enjoy getting fitter, that’s when we reap the results!

It doesn’t need to be crazy long sessions, quality over quantity.

All of us as human beings, always feel better after increasing our heart rate and exercising, and getting those endorphins racing.

So get off the couch, create the time and make it happen today!

Springs create the dynamic for the exercises, so adding spring increases resistance, and removing it decreases resistance.

Using heavier springs doesn't mean you are always doing a harder workout, however, the springs are there to support you. Also, depending on the exercise, a lighter spring doesn't mean an easy workout as it may require more strength and control.

The tension of the springs should allow you to perform each exercise with control, stability, and confidence. Appropriate spring tension can vary depending on your height, weight, skill level, and they don't need to be the same for everyone in a group set, per example.

Listen to your body and talk to your teacher as it may be time to adjust your springs.
