🏇 RAISING THE BAR — JUMP BETTER BEFORE YOU JUMP HIGHER 🏇
We’re excited to launch Raising the Bar, a new Pony Club NSW showjumping education series focused on helping riders develop the skills they need before simply moving the fences higher.

Showjumping isn’t just about height.
It’s about learning to:
🐴 Ride a balanced, consistent rhythm
👀 Read and understand a course
📏 Find the right lines and distances
🏇 Develop an effective jumping position
🎯 Improve accuracy, straightness and control
🧠 Make good decisions around a course
💪 Build confidence through correct technique
✅ Know when you and your horse are genuinely ready to move up

Over the coming months, Our Raising the Bar series will share practical exercises, coaching tips and training ideas that riders can work on at home, at rallies and during lessons.

Because sometimes the biggest improvement doesn’t come from putting the rail up another hole.

It comes from riding the same height better.

🌟 Better technique. Better decisions. Better rounds. More Wins. Then raise the bar.

🏇 OPENING SOON — 2026 THOROUGHBRED COMBINED PERFORMANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS! 🏆

Something exciting is coming for our Pony Club Thoroughbred riders, all part of our new partnership!

Pony Club NSW is thrilled to present the 2026 Thoroughbred Combined Performance Championships as a special showcase event at the 2026 Equimillions, being held on Monday 5th October 2026 at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC) — Hacking Arena.

This exciting new Championship will showcase the versatility, education, presentation and partnership of Thoroughbreds within Pony Club NSW — and your horse does not need to have raced to take part.

🐎 Raced, trialled and unraced Thoroughbreds are all welcome, provided they are registered and can be verified as a Thoroughbred.

🌏 Open to current financial Pony Club NSW riders, aged 13–25 years. (as per min age requirements to compete at equilmillions)

⭐ HOW DOES IT WORK?

Each horse and rider combination will complete three stages for a final end score:

✨ Stage One — Presentation & Turnout
Showcasing your horse-and-rider partnership, presentation, grooming, clean saddlery and overall turnout.

✨ Stage Two — Flatwork Workout
A set workout designed to demonstrate rhythm, balance, transitions and overall way of going.

✨ Stage Three — Jumping Performance (Jumping Equitation Style with tasks)
This isn’t simply about being the fastest around the course! Riders will be assessed on rhythm and tempo, control, approach and line, take-off, position, hands and overall jumping style.

Points will then be added together to get the winners. Prizes / Vouchers / Ribbons for winners 1st-5th

The Championship will feature:

🐴 Silks 60cm
• 13–under 15 years
• 15–under 17 years
• 17–25 years

🏆 Cup 80cm
• 13–under 15 years
• 15–under 17 years
• 17–25 years

There are just 10 places in each class — 60 combinations in total, so make sure you are ready when entries open! So speak with your ZCI now as you will need to be within graded within the grading heights to eligible to compete.

📅 ENTRIES OPEN: 7pm 12th September 2026
⏰ ENTRIES CLOSE: Midnight 18th September 2026

💰 Entry: $45 per horse-and-rider combination
