Winton Rumble 2026

Team Vaseline headed up the Hume for 16 hours of dinosaur juice burning fun. With Diesel prices soaring, we figured all those *expletive deleted* Raptor drivers should feel the hurt too, so we should use as much 98 octane as we can.

We had our full driver line up in the fast seat with Ben Lambrick, Joel Zuidland, Karley King and Scott Williamson all managing to dodge family commitments.
Also had a great support team by managing to convince others to come along. Crew Chief Scott Hannam, Chief Engineer Steve Lambrick Car Controller Shelby Lambrick, and data analyst Jaxon Zuidland.

Started out the weekend with an occasional engine miss and a driver forgetting to put in his headphones. Luckily an early red flag gave us a chance to restore comms and replace a few key bits and we were good to go. But a nagging issue of radiator caps and cheap chinabay radiators would continue to haunt us for the weekend.

The early issues started us on the back foot, and then we lost a few laps to our transponder not working right. But soon enough, the mighty Vasolancer was charging hard and didn’t miss a beat for the rest of the day. Finishing day 1 in P2, around 10 laps behind the class leader.

Day 2 started great. In the first session Slim (Scott Williamson) managed to set the fastest lap for the class and the car with a 1.44.77.
Just over two hours in, Ben decided the car was so great on the black stuff, surely it can beat everyone in the dirt too. Sending it off track at turn 4 and managing to punch a hole through the sump. Resulting in lost time to replace a sump, then throw in some more radiator dramas.
We finally got the car back out and running right but a fair way back in P4. With all drivers pushing hard and consistent laps we managed to chase down the last podium step and claim P3.
An amazing drive by everyone on the team with every driver doing their PB and lapping more consistently than ever.

Congrats to Trutrack racing (🤣Trucktrack Racing🤣) on the win, that team is unstoppable atm. You guys absolutely killed it. And to all our friends at Hyundies that had a real rough start and fought back from over 40 laps down to get P2 is an amazing effort.

First thanks goes to our amazing pit crew. There’s no way we would have been able to do it without you guys. That podium place was from your hard work and effort. Especially Scott Hannam for all the work you do at Vaseline HQ.

🏁 ANNOUNCING A NEW JUNIOR ENDURANCE RACING TEAM– SOUTH AUSTRALIA 🏁

We’re excited (and a little nervous) to finally share something we’ve been quietly working on for a while with the South Australian Motor Events community.

This is a junior endurance racing project built by people who love this community, for young people who want to be part of it.

👩‍🚀👨‍🚀 Who we’re looking for

We’re opening expressions of interest for juniors aged 14–18:

Girls and boys
With or without disability
Including neurodivergent juniors and those with physical disabilities
Juniors we can safely and appropriately support in a race car

This is not about producing the next Supercars driver.
There are no talent scouts, no career pathways, no pressure.

👉 If your kid isn’t serious about having fun, learning teamwork, and being part of something cool — we probably aren’t the team for them.

Fun
Inclusion
Belonging
Learning how grassroots motorsport actually works
Being part of a real endurance race team
Laughing in the pits at when things go sideways (safely)

🦺 Safety comes first. Always.

Safety is non-negotiable and heavily engineered into the project, including:

Short, carefully managed driver stints
Automatic and SLOW AF Car
Adult-supervised checklists for drivers, pit stops and refuelling
Full safety equipment
A fully compliant full Rollin cages cage
Clear procedures, training, and oversight at every step
This is motorsport done properly, not casually.

Passenger ride day!!! Vaseline Racing is holding a passenger ride day on November 1st at Sandown Raceway. Cost will be $100 to go out for some hot laps in the mighty lancer. Don’t miss this opportunity for some great cheap fun. Sadly for young ones you have to be 16 to hop in.
