ππ A SEASON TO CELEBRATE β DAPTO JUNIORS 2025/26 ππ
Last Sunday was a chance to pause and recognise what has been a fantastic season for our junior cricketers β and what stood out most wasnβt just the performances, but the growth across every age group.
From our youngest players finding their feet in U10s, to our older juniors leading the way in U17s, this season was full of moments that reminded us what our club is all about.
We saw players dominate with the bat β Freddie James, Rory Smith, Emma Soutter, Hunter Donoghue, Lachlan Tate and Cameron Kelly leading the way across their grades.
With the ball, it was just as impressive β Luke Morton, all 3 (!) of the Maloney crew, Emma Soutter again, Riley Brown and Hannah Tate all delivering game changing spells throughout the year.
But beyond the numbers, it was the players who brought energy, commitment and leadership that caught the eye of their coaches β with Rafferty McGrath, Aiden Basic, Nate Drinkwater and Blake H***e recognised for the impact they had on their teams.
The respect of teammates is one of the most powerful things in sport, and that was clear with our Playersβ Player winners β Aria Botes and Jesse Norris β players who earned it week in, week out.
One of the best parts of junior sport is watching improvement, and this season delivered plenty of it. Gordon Roxon-Agars, Jax Martin, Kayden H***e, Kobi Morgan and Hamish Davies all showed just how much can change with effort and persistence.
There were also moments of brilliance that deserve special mention β a hat-trick to Luke Morton, outstanding work behind the stumps from Hunter Jones-Davids, and a dominant season at the top of the order from Blake Knight.
And at the pointy end of the season, two players stood above the rest β
π Freddie James β Junior Cricketer of the Year
π Lachlan Tate β Senior/Junior Cricketer of the Year
These awards tell part of the story β but the bigger picture is a club full of kids turning up, improving, supporting each other and representing Dapto with pride.
Thatβs what makes this place special ππ
