Today we’re celebrating all the dads, stepdads, grandads and father figures out there! ❤️

And don’t worry… you don’t have to be a bowler to be celebrated! 😂

Whether Dad spends his weekends on the bowling green, fishing, camping, tinkering in the shed, watching the footy, chasing the kids around, firing up the BBQ or simply putting his feet up with a cold one — today is all about you! 🍻😎

💰 THURSDAY SCROUNGERS — THE KIDS ARE TAKING OVER! 😂🏆

Well, last night’s Thursday Scroungers at Dampier Bowling Club took an unexpected turn…

When the dust settled, our finalists were Abe, Angus and Kellie — yep, you read that right… our THREE youngest members! 😂

Clearly the future of Dampier Bowling Club has decided they’re not waiting their turn! 👶➡️🏆

After a hard-fought final, it was Angus who kept his cool, found the line and took home the win! 🏆🎳

🥇 Winner: Angus
🏅 Encouragement Award: Bre — because every great bowling night needs someone willing to give it a crack! 😂👏

A huge congratulations to all our players, and especially our young guns. The older members better start practising… the kids are coming for the trophies! 😜

Thanks to everyone who came along and made another Thursday night at DBC such a cracker.

🍺🚨 THE GREAT DBC STUBBY HOLDER SHORTAGE! 🚨🍺

We have a bit of a crisis at the Dampier Bowling Club…

Our stubby holders appear to have discovered the front gate — because they keep walking out of the club! 😂

And before anyone starts pointing fingers…

👀 Our own members aren’t exactly angels when it comes to this either! 🤣

So we’re putting the call out to our members, friends, visitors AND our amazing local businesses! 🍻

🍺 GOT A FEW STUBBY HOLDERS TO SPARE?

We’d love donations of clean, usable stubby holders — especially branded ones from local businesses.

And here’s the good bit for local businesses…

📣 YOUR LOGO COULD BE GETTING A LOT OF EXPOSURE!

Think of it as mobile advertising… 😂

Your stubby holder could end up:
🍺 On the bowling green
🍺 At the bar
🍺 At a social function
🍺 In someone’s esky
🍺 At a weekend BBQ
🍺 Or possibly… mysteriously walking out our front gate! 🚶‍♂️🤣

🏆 Dampier Bowling Club 🏆
🏆 Club Fours Championship 🏆

On Sunday, 16 August, Dampier Bowling Club held our Club Fours Championship — and this year marked an exciting first for the club, with the Fours being played as a mixed event!

Three teams nominated for the championship, with a round-robin format played throughout the day

While there can only be one winning team, every game was incredibly close, with plenty of ends where the result could have easily gone either way. It made for a fantastic day of competitive bowls, great sportsmanship and plenty of club camaraderie

A very special congratulations goes to young Angus, who at just 13 years old played in his first ever club event — and walked away as a Club Champion! 🎉👏

Angus is now proudly the youngest player to win a championship at Dampier Bowling Club! 🏆

At only 13, we’re hoping he’s well and truly caught the bowling bug and that this is the beginning of a long and successful bowling career! 🤞

It’s fantastic to see our younger bowlers getting involved, competing alongside our more experienced members and becoming part of the future of our club💚💛

A huge congratulations to all three teams for a fantastic day on the green, and a big thank you to everyone who helped organise and run the event.

Well done to our 2026 Club Fours Champions and congratulations to everyone who competed! 👏🏆

Scroungers / Barefoot Bowls Results

The green was full, the banter was loud, and everyone suddenly became an "elite" bowler when $50 cash was on the line! 💸

Congrats to all our finalists, our cash prize winner, and the Encouragement Award legends—you've earned the bragging rights (at least until next Thursday).

See you next week! Same bowls, same laughs, and probably the same questionable measuring decisions. 😉
