Dakabin Weekend with Gordon Elliott

This year will be the 30th year of Gordon Elliott coming to Qld for the Dakabin Line Dance weekend and we want to celebrate with you.

Do you know any line dancers from back in the day that used to attend?

Can’t believe it’s a week since Dakabin and I’m only just getting to do a post.

This year was a little quieter than normal but it didn’t stop the fun 🤩 workshops, socials and good times.
Trivia was on again and it was close. Jo and the girls at her table scrapped in by 1 point. I think I need harder questions next year.

Special thank you to Gordon for a great workshop. 10 dances were taught and I honestly can’t decide what to teach first at my classes. Gordon, we love your workshops, teaching and even more you. You consider every level and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you is never enough. ❤️

Thanks to everyone that came along, without you all we wouldn’t have a Dakabin. To everyone who helped in any way over the weekend, thank you! We couldn’t do it without your help and support. 🌼

To Rebecca who manages to fill the floor on Sunday morning when we are all exhausted but want to keep dancing, thanks for running the social and everything else you do.

Lastly to Theresa, we did it again! We are getting so good at this. Thanks for all you do. I love working with you. 🥰

Looking forward to 30 years of Dakabin in 2026 so mark 21/22/23rd November in your calendar. It’s going to be celebration! 🎉

Finally some time to reflect on last weekends Dakabin with Gordon.
Numbers were down a little but it didn’t stop us having a great time. So much dancing, socialising and fun. 🤩
Our normal craft was this year replaced by dance trivia with the girls from Redneck Ladies getting 14 out of a possible 17 points to take out the crown.

Thanks to Gordon for 2 great workshops where we learned 10 dances in total through the day. Gordon also kept the floor full with 2 request socials on Friday and Saturday night. I love how he does lots of split floors to ensure everyone gets to dance. We love you Gordon 🥰

Sunday saw our usual social with Rebecca Ross as DJ. Rebecca does a great job of keeping an exhausted room of dancers on the floor. Again it is all requests.
Thanks Rebecca for being a part of the A Team with us. 💜
Also thank you for all the wonderful photos, i don’t think there was one person missed 😂
To everyone that continues to support this weekend, thank you! Without you all it wouldn’t a success. Theresa and I love running this weekend and we are now counting down to the 30 year anniversary in 2026, so start telling your friends, fellow dancers and anyone from the past that has been evolved or has come along.
Help us make it the biggest reunion ever.

Lastly thanks to Theresa. I love working with you my friend. What a team we make! 🩷
