Southern Storm Youth Footy Teams Official page of Southern Storm Football Club - Cygnet based junior and youth footy teams for all genders.

We are a junior football club welcoming youth in the Huon and Channel areas. We cater for all junior age groups, genders, and skill levels. Originally formed in 2012 to combine Cygnet and Kermandie Junior Football Teams, our training runs at both Cygnet and Kermandie grounds. Southern Storm teams are proudly supported by many great sponsors. We encourage our members and supporters to view our page

and support these businesses. Our teams start from Auskick Programs running at both Kermandie and Cygnet, to Under 8s - Under 16s. We field mixed, boys' and girls' teams, with all genders and new players always welcomed. If you are looking for a great, community club, Southern Storm is the place for you and your children! A huge congratulations to all of our Southern Storm Round 6 Players of the Week! 👏

These players were recognised by their coaches for their outstanding effort, teamwork, sportsmanship, determination and commitment throughout the round. We love seeing our players give their best every week, support their teammates and continue to develop their skills on and off the field.

There are no Southern Storm games this weekend, with the competition taking a break for the long weekend.

We hope all of our players, coaches, managers, volunteers, families and supporters enjoy a well-earned rest and make the most of the extra time with family and friends.

Thank you for everything you do for our club each week - from running teams and canteens to cheering from the sidelines. Your support is what makes Southern Storm such a great community.

🏉 AFL Tasmania Regional Roadshow, Cygnet - this Thursday! 🏉

A fantastic opportunity for players aged 12-16 and coaches to take part in a FREE football development session delivered by AFL Tasmania Talent Pathway Coaches and the Devils Academy!

📍 Cygnet Sports Ground
📅 Thursday 28th May
⏰ 4:00pm – 6:00pm

This session will include:
✅ Skill development
✅ Game-based training
✅ On-field coaching
✅ Pathway insights from AFL Tasmania & Devils Academy staff

This is an awesome chance for players to train with elite pathway coaches right here in our region, while local coaches can also learn and observe throughout the session.

From our incredible coaches, team managers and committee members, to the parents, carers, family members and friends helping behind the scenes and on the ground each week - your time, energy and support never go unnoticed.
Whether you’re setting up grounds, running canteens, organising teams, helping at training, first aid, umpiring or quietly working behind the scenes, you are the heart of our club.
Community sport simply wouldn’t exist without volunteers, and we are so grateful for the amazing people who continue to give their time to support our players and club community.

Ahead of a big weekend of junior footy, we'd like to give a huge shout out to all of our weekly "Player of the week" award winners so far this season! 🏆

These players have shown great teamwork, sportsmanship, effort and commitment each week, and we love celebrating their achievements both on and off the field. Keep up the fantastic work everyone - we’re so proud of you all!

We also want to give a MASSIVE thank you to The Salty Dog Hotel for their amazing Frosty Dog x Junior Grassroots Sporting Clubs initiative!
This incredible program is supporting 28 local junior sporting clubs this season by providing “Player of the Week” vouchers, contributing an outstanding $40,000 back into grassroots sport. Community support like this makes a real difference to local clubs and our young players, and we are so grateful to be part of it! 👏🍦
