If your sleep is all over the place, telling you to “just get 8 hours” isn’t very helpful.
Especially after 35, when work, family, stress and hormonal changes can make a good night’s sleep harder to come by.
So start with a few things that can actually fit into your routine:
☀️ Get outside in the morning. Even 10–20 minutes of natural light helps your body clock know when it’s time to be awake and, later, when it’s time to sleep.
☕ Give caffeine a cut-off time. Try keeping your coffee to the first half of your day rather than using it to push through the afternoon.
⏰ Keep your wake-up time consistent. Your bedtime won’t always be perfect, but waking around the same time each day can help regulate your sleep rhythm.
📱 Create a 30-minute “day is done” routine. Dim the lights, put the phone away, shower, read… whatever helps your brain stop running at 100%.
If you want to train hard, recover well and build muscle, what happens at night matters too.
