🏆 POWERCHAIR SPORTS VICTORIA — VPL 2025/26 PRESENTATION NIGHT 🏆

What an incredible evening celebrating another fantastic Victorian Powerchair League season!

A huge thank you to Westvale Olympic FC for hosting our Presentation Night and to everyone who helped make the 2025/26 season such a success. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our players, clubs, volunteers, and community.

🥇 PREMIERSHIP DIVISION

🏆 Premiership Cup & League Champions: Melbourne City – A dominant season capped off with both major team honours.

🌟 Rising Star: Gabe Bouris – An outstanding debut season, combining impressive performances with great sportsmanship.

🎯 Top Assist: Luke David – A creative force whose vision and passing stood out all year.

👏 Players’ MVP: Luke David & Lucas Timotheou – Joint winners after finishing level in the player voting, reflecting the respect of their peers.

⚽ Golden Guard: Lucas Timotheou – Continuing his incredible form as the Premiership’s leading goalscorer.

🏆 League MVP: Chris Kessaris – A truly deserving winner after an inspirational season of leadership, passion, and outstanding performances.

🥇 CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION

🏆 Championship Cup: South Melbourne – Winners of our highly competitive mid-season tournament.

🏆 League Champions: Westvale Olympic FC – Rewarded for an outstanding season at the top of the Championship.

🌟 Rising Star: Dominic Vy – A brilliant first season, showing enormous potential, dedication, and maturity.

🎯 Top Assist: Lucas Timotheou – Consistently creating opportunities with exceptional vision and playmaking ability.

👏 Players’ MVP: David MacPherson – Voted by his fellow players throughout the season for his outstanding performances and consistency.

⚽ Golden Guard: Lucas Timotheou – The Championship’s leading goalscorer, finishing clinically all season.

🏆 League MVP: Lucas Timotheou – A remarkable season recognised with the Championship’s highest individual honour.

A special congratulations also to our volunteer award recipients:
❤️ Most Valuable Volunteer: John Taylor – Recognised for his incredible dedication and tireless commitment throughout the season.
💙 Spirit of PSV Award: Spiros Kessaris – Honoured for embodying the values, passion, and heart of the Powerchair Sports Victoria community.

To every player, coach, volunteer, official, family member, supporter and sponsor—thank you for making the 2025/26 season one to remember. And a special thanks to the PSV committee for all the work they do behind the scenes.

To our wonderful community, with the conclusion of the powerchair football season, we’d like to take a moment reflect on season 2026.

Powerchair Sports Victoria has achieved its highest ever membership and playing numbers. Additionally, the establishment of partnerships with Muscular Dystrophy Australia and Victoria University, has meant our great sport has been seen by more people and is being supported by placement students for the first time. These kinds of initiatives help our sport to create better match day experiences and the esteem of Powerchair football in our state.

Another highlight was seeing three Victorian players selected in the Australian Poweroos squad, who we are excited to cheer on in October.

None of this would have been possible, if not for our fantastic members. Thank you for believing in the vision that our sport can be, there have been challenging moments but they stem from people caring about the sport, which we can grow from.

This goes especially for our incredible volunteers and match day officials, the sport simply does not happen without you, thank you for your contributions this year, the success of Powerchair Sports Victoria is in many ways yours also.

With your help, you created an environment where our players could compete in our Premiership and Championship squads, won by Melbourne City Football Club and Westvale Olympic, respectively. Congratulations also go to Melbourne City for winning the Premiership in-season tournament, and South Melbourne the Championship division.

The committee would like to also extend our gratitude to outgoing President Brian Fitzpatrick, and Committee Member George Loulakis, for your leadership and your efforts to help our sport to grow in your time with us.

The committee is already looking ahead to next season, to work hard and make it our best year yet, but in the meantime we are excited to celebrate with our members at our Presentation Night, to be held on Sunday 21 June.

Thank you all again, and we look forward to communicating with you exciting developments in the coming weeks.

Due to extenuating circumstances regarding having minimal resources to officiate today’s matches, the PSV committee has decided to cancel Round 8 of the VPL Football season. The updated league standings will be published in the next few days.

VPL FOOTBALL ROUND 15 RESULTS

As Westvale and City's Premiership teams recorded wins against South Melbourne, it was Westvale's Championship side that stole the show on Sunday with a big win, placing them in the box seat to claim the title in a race that extends until the final match of the season!

Powerchair Sports Victoria’s 2026 Powerchair Football Awards Presentation will be held on Sunday 21st June from 4pm at the Westvale Olympic FC in St Albans. Tickets are $50 each (including for carers), with food provided and drinks available at the bar.

After the excitement of the previous day's VPL Cup finals, the regular season continued in earnest last Sunday at Parkville, with Westvale and Melbourne City recording Premiership victories over South Melbourne, and Westvale emerging victorious against City in the Championship.
