Welcome to Day 3 of Women’s Health Week 2026, where we explore the power of REST, sleep, downtime and regulation.

Rest is not something we have to earn. It is an essential part of Women’s health. Our bodies and minds need periods of recovery to restore energy, support immune function, regulate hormones, strengthen memory and concentration, and maintain emotional wellbeing.

Jean Hailes for Women's Health Croydon Main Street

For women juggling work, family, caring responsibilities and the mental load, it can be easy to stay in “go mode”. Building small moments of downtime and nervous system regulation into the day can help the body shift from stress and alertness towards a calmer, more restorative state.

Examples include sitting outside and noticing your surroundings, or enjoying a hot drink for 5 minutes without your phone.

Good quality sleep supports physical, mental and emotional health, yet sleep can become more difficult during different life stages like early motherhood, perimenopause and menopause.

Here are some simple ways to support positive sleep:
🌙 Keep a regular sleep and wake time
🌙 Get natural sunlight early in the day to support body clock
🌙 Move regularly, but avoid vigorous exercise before bed
🌙 Bs mindful of caffeine
🌙 Create a screen-free wind down routine before bed
🌙 Keep your bedroom cool, dark and comfortable
🌙 Avoid relying on alcohol to help you sleep

Rest is not laziness.

Downtime is not wasted time.

Recovery allows us to come back to our lives with greater capacity, resilience and energy.

You might like to reflect: “What is currently draining my energy the most, and how can intentionally protect my time to rest?” 💭

Welcome to Day 2 of Women’s Health Week 2026.

Today we are focusing on the power of MOVEMENT!

🚴🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🏌🏼‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️

Regular physical activity is one of the best ways women can support their health and wellbeing throughout life. This becomes particularly important during perimenopause and menopause, when changes in hormones and ageing can affect muscle mass, bone health, cardiovascular health and pelvic floor function.

Jean Hailes for Women's Health Croydon Main Street

To move well in life, women need a responsive pelvic floor and deep core that coordinates with breathing.

This core unit needs to have strength to activate and stabilise the spine and pelvic organs, while also being able to relax fully.

For further support and education around pelvic floor health, bladder, bowel, prolapse or pregnancy issues, we highly recommend the team at Pelvic Strength in Croydon ✅

So ladies, make movement part of your life… rather than another job on your to-do list.

💪🏼 Choose activities you enjoy
💪🏼 Strength train regularly to maintain muscle and bone strength
💪🏼 Include balance and mobility work (all our classes Yoga Studio in Croydon VIC tick this box!)
💪🏼 Exercise with friends or join a group to make movement social and enjoyable
💪🏼 Include pelvic floor and deep core exercises, focusing on both activation and relaxation

Regular movement can help women maintain the confidence and function they need not just for today, but for the decades ahead.

So have a think for a moment…

💭 How can I bring more joy and less pressure into the way I physically move my body this week? 💭

Welcome to Day 1 of Women’s Health Week 2026!

This year’s theme is “Do It Anyway”.

Small steps for your health still count - even when life feels busy or messy. Remember, you don’t have to do it perfectly to do it anyway!

Join us over the next 5 days as we explore realistic, practical ways to support your health, one small step at a time.

Jean Hailes for Women's Health Croydon Main Street

Day 1 of Women’s Health Week 2026 focuses on

NUTRITION: Fuelling our bodies.

This is more about nourishing our bodies, not striving for perfection. Eating a balanced variety of foods provides the energy, protein, vitamins, minerals and fibre your body needs to function well, and can help reduce the risk of chronic health conditions.

Healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated.

Small, sustainable changes can add up over time.

Think about what you can ADD to your meals rather than take away - an extra serve of veggies, some protein at breakfast, a piece of fruit or handful of nuts for a snack.

And keep in mind, your nutritional needs change throughout life, so what works for you in your 20s may look different during pregnancy, post partum, perimenopause, menopause or later life.

If you have specific dietary or health needs, always seek out the advice of a trusted professional like Women’s Health Dietitians

We highly recommend every woman visits the Jean Hailes for Women's Health website and completes a quick, easy “Her Health Check”.

This is a free online tool that tells you which health checks you might need and when to get them.

It has been developed in consultation with health professionals.

Speaking of health checks, are you up to date with your breast cancer screenings?

Women are invited for free mammograms every 2 years once they turn 50. Mammograms are also available through your GP at an earlier age if you have family history or cause for concern.

BreastScreen Victoria have a local clinic in Croydon so be sure to book in if you are due! They take 10 minutes.

We have two dear members of our Yoga Studio in Croydon VIC community who have been personally impacted by breast cancer. Their message is clear, early detection can be life saving 🩷

Leaving the everyday behind…

There’s something special that happens the moment you arrive on retreat.

Phones become quieter.
Shoulders begin to soften.
Deep breaths come a little easier.

This weekend wasn’t about escaping life…
it was about returning to ourselves. It’s taken me a minute to sit with the experience and put together these pics-

Last month we had three days of yoga, beautiful food, spa time, connection, laughter and moments of stillness in the heart of Hepburn Springs.

And this was only Day One…

✨ we have just finalised the details for our 2027 Hepburn Springs Retreat and the waitlist is now open! Are you a planner who likes to get the best price and plan in advance?

✨ FOUR YEARS OF ASHA YOGA ✨

What a beautiful way to celebrate our 4th birthday in the studio! 💚

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Yin & Live Music celebration. The vibes were absolutely incredible — the room was filled with warmth, connection, stillness, laughter and so much good energy.

And a very special thank you to Roderick for sharing his incredible music with us. 🎶 The kora, handpan and sound healing created such a magical atmosphere. We were completely transported!

Thank you for practising, connecting, sharing food, celebrating and simply being part of our community.

11 years of Asha Yoga. 4 years in this beautiful space. And so much gratitude. 🥹💚

We feel incredibly lucky to have created this little yoga home with all of you.

Here’s to many more years of moving, breathing, resting, laughing and connecting together. ✨

🎉 We’re Turning 4! 🎉

Four years ago we opened the doors to our Croydon studio, and this month we’re celebrating a milestone that’s extra special.

While Asha Yoga has now been part of our community for 11 years, this is officially the longest we’ve ever stayed in one venue! Having a space that truly feels like home is something we’re incredibly grateful for… especially during winter when the heating actually works! 😄

To celebrate, we’d love you to join us this Sunday for our Birthday Afternoon Tea.

Our Yin Yoga & Kora Sound Journey is now fully booked, but everyone is welcome to join us afterwards for a relaxed community afternoon.

✨ Pot luck afternoon tea – bring something to share if you can.
⏰ 3:30pm
🍵 Tea ceremony with the lovely Tracey.
💚 Connection, conversation and celebrating our amazing Asha community.

Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or have only recently found us, thank you for being part of our journey. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
