Cool Jakey delivered a surprise win at Royal Randwick, with trainer Joe Pride admitting he thought the gelding would need another run before being competitive. Thankfully for the NSW Tycoons owners on course and around the country, Joe was wrong — and what a result it was! 🏇🎉

Dan rates Cool Jakey’s 😎 remarkable win at Randwick highly 🔥 onward and upward to the Civic Stakes for ‘Jakey’ and the NSW Tycoons.

Cool Jakey - 98.5
Fresh off a seven-week break, he showed plenty of substance to sit outside the lead at a strong speed before forging clear passing the 300m mark, and then holding the challengers at bay to score comfortably by 1.2 lengths in fast overall time after adjusting for conditions on the day. The win earned him a 98.5 rating, a new peak that improved on his previous best of 97.5, which came nine starts ago at the end of his campaign last winter.
