Twilight Tennis

Hawk Eyes have now claimed their seventeenth A grade final in succession.
Early in the evening the semi-finals were played with the following results. Bushflies defeated Ballbreakers 112 to 104, Mulligrubs defeated Deuce Bags 124 to 76, Hawk Eyes defeated Kialla 113 to 90 and Volleys defeated Odd Balls 112 to 99.
The A grade final result was Hawk Eyes defeated Volleys 121 to 104 and in the B grade final Mulligrubs defeated Bushflies 124 to 106.
All in all it was a great finish to the twilight tennis season with great tennis played in the right spirit. Players were able to avail themselves of the club sponsored barbecue on a cool evening.
Congratulations to the winners and commiseration to the runners up. There is also next season.
Social tennis will run for a few more weeks on Thursday nights at 6pm.

Twilight Tennis
The twilight tennis season has arrived at the finals stage, however the weather forecast for this Thursday is not lookimg so favourable.
The results from last week are:- Odd Balls defeated Kialla 173 to 159, Bushflies defeated Deuce Bags 176 to 108, Volleys defeated Taralga 180 to 162, Mulligrubs defeated Yellow Fuzz 186 to 105 and Hawk Eyes defeated Fluffy Tens 186 to 72. The final points table in A grade reads :- Hawk Eyes 923, Volleys 828, Taralga 762, Odd Balls 742, Kialla 740 and Fluffy Tens 618. Mulligrubs lead the B grade points table with 903, followed by Ball Breakers 838, Bushflies 828, deuce Bags 780 and Yellow Fuzz 676.
Last week was the final game for Carmel Page playing for Fluffy Tens. Carmel has been a great supporter of Crookwell Tennis and we wish Carmel and her family well with their move to a warmer climate.

Twilight Tennis
Despite the damp and windy conditions last week there was some great tennis.
Ballbreakers and Bushflies had a very close match with Bushflies piping Ballbreakers by just two points, 159 to 157. Kialla and Taralga had a close match with Taralga eventually taking the match 169 to 149. The other results were: - Volleys defeated Fluffy Tens 186 to 124 and Hawk Eyes defeating Odd Balls 179 to 101. The A grade progressive score reads Hawk Eyes 737, Volleys 648, Taralga 600, Kialla 581, Odd Balls 569 and Fluffy Tens 546. In B grade, Mulligrubs lead the points table with 717, followed by Deuce Bags 672, Ballbreakers and Bushflies on 652 and Yellow Fuzz 571.
This is the last round for the 2025/26 season and there are still players who have not paid their membership. Unfinancial members will be unable to play in the semi-finals or finals.
The matches to watch this week are Odd Balls and Kialla on court 1 and Deuce Bags and Bushflies on court 2.

Twilight Tennis
There are just two rounds left in this season before the finals. After a quick whip around the teams last week in regard to the finals, it has been decided to try again this year to stage the semi-finals and finals on the one night. The matches are just four sets instead of the customary six sets. Unfortunately, last year rain stopped proceedings after the semi-finals had been played, resulting in the grand finals being played the following week. The results from last week are:- Odd Balls defeated Fluffy Tens 182 to 137, Ballbreakers defeated Deuce Bags 172 to 143, Hawk Eyes defeated Taralga 186 to 89, Mulligrubs defeated Bushflies 185 to 131, and Volleys defeated Kialla 178 to 151. Hawk Eyes have a comfortable lead in A grade with 558, followed by Odd Balls 468, Volleys 462, Kialla 432, Taralga 431, and Fluffy Tens 422. Mulligrubs lead B grade with 531, followed by Ballbreakers 495, Bushflies 493, Deuce Bags 486 and Yellow Fuzz 471.
The games to watch this week are Deuce Bags and Yellow Fuzz on court 4 and Kialla and Taralga on court 5.

Another very cold and windy night last week but there were some close matches to keep players warm.
The results from last week are :- Kialla defeated Fluffy Tens 175 to 139, Bushflies defeated Yellow Fuzz 176 to 137, Hawk Eyes defeated Volleys 186 to 123, Mulligrubs defeated Ball Breakers169 to 146 and Taralga defeated Odd Balls 156 to 140. In A grade Hawk Eyes have 372 followed by Taralga on 342, Odd Balls 286, Fluffy Tens 285, Volleys 284 and Kialla 281. There are only 5 points separating the bottom 4 teams in A grade.
Bushflies are the leader of the pack in B grade with 362 then comes Mulligrubs on 346, Deuce Bags 343, Ballbreakers 323 and Yellow Fuzz 285.
The games to watch this week are Fluffy Tens and Odd balls on court 1 and Deuce Bags and ballbreakers on court 2.

The results from last week are Hawk Eyes defeated Kialla 186 to 106, Mulligrubs defeated Deuce Bags 177 to 157, Volleys defeated Odd Balls 161 to 146, Ball Breakers defeated Yellow Fuzz 177 to 146 and Taralga defeated Fluffy Tens 186 to 146. With the start of the split competition all teams are starting on zero points.
In A Grade Taralga and Hawk Eyes are equal on 186 followed by Odd Balls and Fluffy Tens on 146 and Kialla with 106 points. In B grade Bushflies are on top with 186 followed by Ball Breakers and Mulligrubs on 177, Deuce Bags 157 and Yellow Fuzz 148.
The games to watch this week are Odd Balls and Taralga on court 5 and Hawk Eyes and Volleys on court 3.

Twilight Tennis
The twilight tennis competition has now split into A grade and B grade. There are now five rounds left to play before the finals.
The A grade teams are Hawk Eyes, Volleys, Kialla, Taralga, Odd Balls and Fluffy Tens. The B grade teams are Mulligrubs, Ball Breakers, Bushflies, Deuce Bags and Yellow Fuzz.
Player registration fees are now well overdue, so if captains could please check their players status that would be greatly appreciated by our treasurer.

This week we will play the last round before splitting the competition into A and B grade. The results from last week are:- Kialla defeated Oddballs 186 to 86, Ball Breakers defeated Fluffy Tens 181 to 132, Hawk Eyes defeated Volleys 186 to 116 and Mulligrubs defeated Bushflies 186 to 116. The point score after 10 rounds reads Hawk Eyes 1856, Volleys 1737, Taralga 1733, Kialla 1699, Fluffy Tens 1519, Mulligrubs 1500, Ball Breakers 1478 Bushflies 1385, Deuce Bags 1234 and Yellow Fuzz1159.
The weather should be warmer this week after the cold easterly of last week. The often repeated lesson of last week is to always bring some warm clothes to twilight tennis.
