A pumping Wanda right rip bowl greeted todays surfers as we made the trek up the beach for contest #8-it meant no toilets, food, water or coffee but it was offshore all day.
Wins for Harvey Richards first up in the U13's over Sonny and Flynn Lloyd, Slater Young took the 10's win with Koru snapping at his heels, Sonny claimed the U16 crown over Alessandro and Veage just claimed the O60 title in the last seconds with born again Gally pushing the field into second.
In the Women's , Brianna Batterham claimed her first win with a dominate display putting Grace into second with Sam Babister third.
The 45's was a victory to Greg Brown with Fishkiller riding the lefts almost snatching the win with Fitzy third.
In the red hot Opens field Haydo hit hard early with a 6.9 making Jordan and Jay chase with 6's, he then scored a 7.4 on his last wave to put the result out of reach .
Thanks to the helpers for packing up even though we might now need a new tent!

Congratulations to Ian (Fishkiller) Spencer for his runner up place to Paul Dupuy from WA in todays O55 Australian Titles at Sandon Point- Fishy ran a great heat just missing a last gasp set with a minute to spare, the waves were pumping . Bummer for Haydo who was given an interference in the O30 semi, tough call for a wave the other guy didnt even catch.

"Today Cronulla Sharks Boardriders snatched the 2026 King Of The Beach board riders club battle at Elouera after the Head Judge reviewed Power surfer Jay Browns final score giving him a 6.33 which was enough to eclipse Elouera’s Shane Campbells 5.17 to hand his team victory by an amazing .04."

Congratulations to the Cronulla team of Flintoff, Jay Brown, Haydo, Sonny Leong and Scarlett Gray- you couldnt have done a better job leading into our 50th year celebrations and I personally want to thank Rich Brown and the team for the effort.
The Queen contest didn't go as well (congrats to Sandshoes), but thanks again to all the women who stepped up when we couldnt field a team- we are better for the experience.
Up Up and dates for next years 50th will drop ASAP!

The 38th annual Northies Alley Masters has been run and won at the Nth Cronulla Wall with a new Open champion crowned.
Rain and low tide saw the day start slowly but the wind kept at bay and the 3/4 ft swell conditions improved all day until the Open final where inconsistency saw wave counts critical.
In the u10s it was a masterclass victory by Michael Lunniss who actually scored the highest wave score all day (9.😎
It was another double in the u13/16s for Sonny Leong who took to the air to show his class and Jonathon (Budgie brain) Smith wiggled his way to victory in the o60's over Veage who could only waggle.
The 45s was a torrid affair with the old boys competing for all the scraps with Dylan Longbottom just getting on top off the Fishkiller for bragging rights.
It was a boil over in the strong women's division with junior Zara Hyland sneaking a couple of long lefts off three times champion Grace Gosby to claim her maiden win whilst in the Opens both Jay Brown and Haydo failed to reach the final by choosing to surf the Nth Wall lefts.
Then there was always going to be a new champion crowned as inconsistent sets saw wave choice critical, Elouera's Soren Smith fell on his big chance whilst Jordan Widenstrom who dominated the semi finals couldnt catch his winner. Grace Gosby after her Womens defeat caught two good ones to be in front until Rhys Young cemented his legacy snatching his chance on the finals biggest and best wave to claim the winners coverted Blue Jacket.
Thanks to Northies for their continuing support and in 2027 in the Sharks Boardriders 50th Anniversary year the Northies Alley Masters will run as a one big Open event like it did originally.

Not all contests are sunshine and rainbows, and todays very rare Sunday session was brought about by necessity-thanks to the Nth Cronulla Juniors who surfed the next bank up and to the surf Gods who didn't make it pick up too much with the Southerly wind.
Sonny Leong took out the u13,16 double with some kids running from comp to comp, Slater Young claimed the Micros over Koru and Jasmine Gosby won the super competitive Women's with one excellent ride that Veage didnt get a pic of because he was trying to get in from the 60's final which he just claimed over Maurer.
Greg Brown slammed another O45 win over Bevan Gosby and Jordan Widenstrom banked some valuable Opens points with a win over Matt Gall and Elijah Hayllar who claimed his first ever cash-Up Up and next month sees the Northies Alley Masters contest.
