Cronulla Sharks Water Polo Club Nurturing our juniors, sharing a passion for the game & celebrating community.

The seed for what has become one of Australia's great Water Polo Clubs was sown by the merger of teams from Gymea Bay and Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club who in 1963 entered a team in Third Division of the Sydney Metropoltan Competition.The St George Leader reported "....that Frank Jordan was to convene a meeting at Cronulla Surf Club for the purpose of starting a water polo club in the area." The

intention was to enable local players to become eligible for selection in New South Wales, Australian and Olympic teams. On the 20th of July 1970 the Club charged its name to the Cronulla Sutherland Water Polo Club following an invitation by Cronulla Sutherland Leagues Club to become an affiliate of "The Sharks".

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Gunnamatta Bay on the 12-13th December for Bush to Bay 2026, one of the best weekends of the year! ☀️💙

Expect plenty of water polo, summer fun, new friends and the chance to learn from some of Cronulla’s AWL athletes.

A great weekend for the kids to have fun, build their skills and make some amazing memories!

🦈 A great first season for our U12 Sharkies! 💙

Our U12 Girls, coached by Al Ewings, had a fantastic season, making it through to the semi-finals and finishing in 4th place after two tough games. An amazing effort in their very first season! 👏

Our U12 Boys, coached by Callum Hunter, narrowly missed the semi-finals but finished their season on a high with a great final game — and helped Coach Callum celebrate a very special milestone birthday! 🎉

A huge thank you to our coaches Al and Callum, assistants Phoebe and Siena, and manager Alyssa for all the time, encouragement and support you’ve given our littlest Sharkies as they begin their water polo journey. 🦈💙

🦈 CRONULLA WOMEN’S OPEN SESSIONS

We’re opening up our women’s programme for the upcoming season with a series of L1/AWL & Division 1/L2 open sessions and grading days.

Whether you’re an established L1/AWL player, competing in L2, returning to water polo, or looking for a new club, these sessions are an opportunity to come along, train with Cronulla and find the right level for you.
