Cronulla Sharks Water Polo Club

Nurturing our juniors, sharing a passion for the game & celebrating community.

The seed for what has become one of Australia's great Water Polo Clubs was sown by the merger of teams from Gymea Bay and Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club who in 1963 entered a team in Third Division of the Sydney Metropoltan Competition.The St George Leader reported "....that Frank Jordan was to convene a meeting at Cronulla Surf Club for the purpose of starting a water polo club in the area." The

intention was to enable local players to become eligible for selection in New South Wales, Australian and Olympic teams. On the 20th of July 1970 the Club charged its name to the Cronulla Sutherland Water Polo Club following an invitation by Cronulla Sutherland Leagues Club to become an affiliate of "The Sharks".

A fantastic evening celebrating the achievements of our club and recognising the hard work, dedication, and commitment shown throughout the season. Congratulations to all our award winners on their well-deserved recognition. It was great to see so many players, coaches, volunteers, families, and supporters acknowledged for the contributions they make to our club. A huge thank you to everyone involved in making our club what it is. The people behind the scenes, in the pool, and in the stands are what make the Sharks such a special community. Here’s to an even bigger and better season ahead. 🦈

Junior Shark Nate is fundraising with the ASF (tax deductible) for his selection into the 16’s Australian Waterpolo team traveling to Croatia in August.

Attention all Sharkies!

We’re inviting our members to play a part in shaping the future of our club.

Over the past few months, the Committee has been gathering feedback from across our community and is now preparing for strategic planning for the upcoming season. This is an opportunity to hear what’s been considered, what’s been tried, and to contribute your ideas as we set our direction for the year ahead.

The first session will be a presentation and Q&A on Thursday, 14th May at Cronulla RSL (venue will be confirmed next week).

We strongly encourage anyone interested in the future of the club to attend and be part of the conversation. Every voice counts and every voice will be heard.

A big congrats to our U16/18’s goalie Keira Hepburn who walked a massive 100km
(200 laps) at this weekends Relay for Life!!

She walked all night and day raising money for cancer in memory of her Granny Hepburn.

Cronulla Waterpolo is honoured to have President Luke Brbot and Co-captains Jade and Claire recognised with a Mayoral Minute at the recent Sutherland Shire Council meeting. This prestigious acknowledgement celebrates our women’s team for their remarkable achievement in securing the 2026 Australian Waterpolo League Championship, and our men’s team for reaching the grand final for the first time since 1999.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers whose dedication and excellence continue to uphold the proud legacy of our club and contribute significantly to sporting achievements within the Sutherland Shire 🦈
