Cronulla RSL Football Club Cronulla RSL Football Club - a family club, catering for boys, girls, men and women. Play with your friends and have a good time!

Soccer with approximately 650 players is the Youth Clubs largest activity. It fielded its first team in 1960 in the under 12’s. Growth was rapid and in 1961 there were seven teams from under 8 to under 14 playing for RSL. The first home ground was Woolooware oval, which was shared with Cronulla Seagulls. Our first President was Frank Falson, who in 1963 coached the first Sutherland Shire represent

ative team (Under 10) to a Metropolitan and State Championship. RSL Soccer was later allocated their own ground at Captain Cook when the tip at the end of Gannons Road was closed and partially filled. During the period 1967-72 the Club was involved in major work on the ground with the installation of the water supply, power poles with floodlights and the laying of turf cut from the creek beds complimented by kikuyu runners from Club members’ own lawns. Those involved remember well Bert Peachey and his rescue from the bottom of a hole, which had been dug for lighting at the southern end. Bert had been overcome by methane gas emanating from the tip beneath the sand. Bert recovered but this story will be forever remembered. Over the years Club stalwarts like Alf Uptin, Fred Glover, Michael Byrne, John Cuciti and Barry Milton have put countless hours into maintaining the ovals.

βš½πŸ’™ Giving Our Old Kits a New Home πŸ’™βš½

Last year, when we updated our playing kit, we were left with some old stock that we didn’t want to see end up in landfill. We’re delighted to share that these kits have now found a meaningful new purpose in Timor-Leste.

Through a partnership with Mark Casemore and St Aloysius Cronulla, our former Stingrays playing kits were donated to schools and community groups along with soccer balls and pumps.

The donations were distributed to:
- Two schools in Hato-Udo
- Aquinas College in Dili, where the Stingray kits will be used by junior and secondary representative football teams
- An English language school, where sporting equipment is limited

The response has been incredible… smiles all round! Football is the number one sport in Timor-Leste, and it is heartwarming to see students proudly wearing our Stingray kits both at school and around their communities. The soccer balls were also a huge hit and are already getting plenty of use.

A special thank you to our very own Jodie Parker for coordinating this and to Qantas for generously providing additional luggage allowance to help transport the donations.

It’s wonderful to know that our old kits are continuing to make a positive impact and bring joy to young footballers. 🌏⚽

A moment that perfectly sums up what team sport is all about...
U12C’s doing Cronulla RSL Football Club proud.

During last week's game Aaron picked up an injury just before half time, the boys immediately jumped in to help carry their teammate from the field together ... no hesitation, no prompting, just genuine care for their mate. A fantastic display of teamwork, friendship and club spirit that made everyone proud.

The team went on to secure a gallant 1-0 victory, but the support and mateship the boys showed each other was even better than the win! πŸ’™πŸ’›βš½οΈ

What a champion! ⭐️

Chloe, goalie from our W14 team, has done something truly amazing!

Chloe has bravely shaved off all her long hair for the World’s Greatest Shave and has already raised more than $1000 to help support Australians facing blood cancer. ❀️

Beyond being a superstar young woman, Chloe’s courage and selflessness for such an important cause has made her team, coaches and club incredibly proud. We’re extremely lucky to have her as part of our Stingray family 🫢🏼

What a champion on and off the field! πŸ’™πŸ’›
