"So many women approach painting trying to be “good.”

To produce something worthy.
To prove something.

But something shifts when we allow ourselves to play.

Creative Play with Acrylics is an extension of what you’ll see in the exhibition — process-led exploration without pressure.

No urgency.
No performance.

Just curiosity.

If you’d like early details for 8 August, comment “PLAY.” 🌿

“I’m not creative.”

I hear this almost every week.

And yet — the same woman will tell me how she rearranges her home instinctively, solves problems imaginatively, cooks intuitively, notices colour in nature.

Creativity is not confined to canvas.

It is how you respond to life.

If this belief has followed you for years, perhaps it’s time to gently question it.

Comment START if you’re willing to explore differently.

Creativity is never gone it just goes quiet.

If you would like to awaken your creativity, drop me a DM with the word "Awaken".

This piece didn’t begin with confidence.

It began with doubt.

It began with a blank surface and the familiar whisper:
“What if this isn’t good enough?”

But I didn’t walk away.

And that is often the only difference.

Creativity rarely begins with certainty.
It begins with willingness.

This work will be part of my upcoming exhibition at Harmony on High Street Gallery on 31 July.

If you’re local, I would love to see you there — not just to see the art, but to experience what happens when we allow ourselves to continue.

You know sometimes the world sends you a message...or sets you up not sure which one yet!

I had no intention of getting another dog at the moment having lost my dear Chica late last year.

But the world apparently knew better than I and as I am dropping my friend's dog who I had had for the weekend off to the kennels....I ended up walking out with Crimpy!!

So I have a new Studio Assistant ..... 🐾🐶🐕 Crimpy he is an 8+ year old Lab Pei (Labrador x Shar Pei) and just a big gentle giant whose family where unable to look after him and had been at the kennels for some time.

LOL I now have a new man in my life - Crimpy - he is a perfect gentleman (so far stayed tuned for updates on that one) - he snores and eats anything ( I think that's the Lab in him 🤣😂🤣) and we are having a ball 🥰🐾🥰

I hear this question all the time.
Not loudly. Not dramatically.

But quietly.

Usually whispered somewhere between school pick-ups, ageing parents, work commitments… and that small, persistent ache that says: something is missing.

Many women I meet don’t actually believe they’ve “lost” their creativity.
They just think it might have passed them by.

That it belonged to their 20-year-old self.
Or their pre-children self.
Or their “before life got busy” self.

But creativity doesn’t expire.

It waits.

It waits for permission.
It waits for safety.
It waits for you to return.

In my upcoming workshop, we don’t learn how to paint better.
We learn how to gently reconnect — without pressure, perfection, or proving.

If that quiet question has been living in you…
I would love to hold space for you on August 8.

Comment “READY” or send me a message and I’ll send you the details.

And if you’re local, my exhibition A Tasmanian Road Trip opens July 31 — it’s a celebration of returning to creative aliveness in midlife.

You’re not behind.
You’re right on time.

here do you find inspiration?

Being creative is about being curious - and part of being curious is just looking!!!

How easy is that!!!

Try it next time you go for a wander or even in your house - try a different angle, really look at something that you normally never notice, walk in a different direction.

So go and look and be curious 👀 and enjoy you may come back with some inspiration for a new creative project 🥰

This body of work wasn’t created to impress.
It was created to reconnect.

“A Tasmanian Road Trip” is my love letter to place —
but also to the quiet return that happens when we give ourselves permission to create without pressure.

If you’ve ever wondered whether that creative part of you is still there…
it is.

The exhibition opens 31 July
